I get that but Guardiola is extremely adaptable. Take the way we've changed as a team since Delph has come in to replace Mendy.

Whilst I agree he's suited to a hoof and run team, his performances his France and Juventus would have me believe he's suitable to other sides.
Purely because he has other, better, players in those sides who do/did all the dirty work for him, as has been mentioned several times in this thread already.
At the rags, there is no one remotely capable of doing that for him, which is why he struggles and fails to impress.

At least you now agree that he is best suited to that type of foot, sorry, HOOFball, so there's hope for you yet!!

;-)

Haha you're not wrong.

But do you not think with a manager like Pep, Pogba might reach those levels he did for Juve and France?

In a word, NO.

Pep expects and demands that all players must put in maximum effort in every game they play. As I said earlier, Pogba has had the luxury of having other players to do the graft for him at both Juve and international level, and I don't think that he has a strong enough mentality to knuckle down and do what is expected of him if we were foolish enough to sign him.

Are they still not for sale?, whatever happened to the Green and Gold?, hope Chelsea pump the bastards tomorrow.

Correct and if Moaninho turned up at the rags with Pogba already there after LVG spent 100m on him he would see he is a liability and not in the bracket of a Moaninho type player!

Was watching a gold mining documentary which was filmed in the Amazon, the people were warned about guerilla's charging people money for using the road. After about 2 days the miners have to use the road, and sure enough the guerilla's jump out armed to the teeth.
They are demanding loads of money and a couple of seconds later 2 more turn up and ones got a City shirt on....I kid you not.
Yep seen that. It was the black and yellow Umbro away shirt. I was quite happy because it's usually rag shirts you see in these remote countries.
Must admit when I go on holiday I always gift a couple of my shirts to locals.

That's an interesting point.

It's just I think that if Pogba played for Pep (anywhere, City or otherwise) then Pep would improve him. Whilst I understand the logic, I think it's unfair to Pogba to cast him as this lazy - weak mentality kind of player. That's how fans of other sides used to talk about Sterling.

Now obviously Pep has a bit of a track record with cleaning out prima-donnas. But with the exception of Ibrahimovic, all the aforementioned players that fit that category were players in the team before he became manager. Plus on top of that, City as a club seem to have a process of vetting out 'unfavourable' characters in the scouting process.

Yet for two summers we were heavily linked with him and rumoured to be legitimately pursuing the transfer. In fact I believe the price-tag was the stumbling block for two summers in a row. What that tells me is that people within the club were satisfied with his work ethic and mentality, certainly enough to meet Guardiola's demands. Although Gundogan was signed in the end as a much cheaper alternative.

Weirdly, despite this debate and others, I need to make it clear I don't want Pogba. He's far too tainted for me. But I just don't believe he's anywhere near as bad as anyone likes to say. To the extent that if we did sign him,for some crazy reason, he'd be good.

On a slightly separate note, here's a fan survey from June 2016 where City fans polled seemed to have Pogba as their first choice signing, back from a time when it wasn't clear he'd be a United player one day. Now obviously that doesn't affect whether he's actually good enough or not, but it does lend itself to the theory that playing for United (a Mourinho United no less) has maybe swayed opinion unfairly.

Pobag is not a Pep player for the simple reason that he's more concerned with haircuts, dabbing with that prick Lingard, dancing, rapping and pissing about stateside with Lumpokaku, instead of concentrating on football. He is the absolute complete opposite of Kev and Dave, who put football first and are both model professionals. Pobag is embarrassing and behaves like a Billy big bollocks, when realistically for the money spent on him, he's performed at best average. Really glad we didn't sign him because in this team he would have fallen well short.

Mate give it up ...most City fans I know didn't want him.
It's not just the fact he plays for the scum but that he isn't good enough to get in our team.
He's overrated and more suited to fucking about on Twitter etc and dabbing with little big nose and spending a fortune on shitty haircuts.

As a non Manchester "observer" and Sunderland til I die (sadly) fan.....here is how I see it....(yes, I've always liked City, (apart from when Sunderland were playing them))

Matic, was a superb signing, in that it gave cover to the defence, and allowed
Pogba to push on...let's just examine this.

Ok...so...I heard a question the other day...
"Does Jose improve defenders..it appears definitely so?"
No...he doesn't, however, what he does.....is play defensive midfielders who "protect" the back 4, hence fewer goals are conceded, making the defence look better....
BUT....that takes up a minimum 6 members of the team...hence the lack of forward momentum.
So...a couple of points on a few attacking options.....

Lukaku....a big , bulky, immobile striker, who knows where the net is......whether you like it or not, this lump of a striker will score goals....his physical presence alone will ensure this happens...but he is quite immobile.
Rashford....the Usain Bolt of today. He is quick.....but..... I regard super quick as Michael Owen etc... I don't get it. I do believe he "could" be a real find for the future...but a defensive coach stifles that.....an attacking coach would embrace it.
Martial....I rate this lad, and has done well, late in games when the opposition tires...

So, to make a brief comparison.....

Martial/Rashford v Sane.
Left sided forwards...all are a massive threat...Sane has scary pace....even compared to Rashford....or does he? Is this true, or is it more how the team plays, and exploits the speed. I'm playing devils advocate...but hear me out.

Lukaku v Jesus/Aguero.......hand on heart...Lukaku will get goals....but would I ever pick him m ahead of Jesus/Aguero? Never....they are too effective, whilst Lukaku mops up at the end of games already won.

Pogva v KDB.....not even going to comment...KDB could be the best player in the world right now

Ok, so.....which of a Uniteds players would get into City's team?
Pogba v KDb/Silva.......No
Lukaku v Jesus/Aguero.....No
Martial / Rashford v Sterling/Sane....No

None would get in the City team as far as I can see.........l.

BUT...........

IF Pogba/Martial/Rashford, had a manager that commanded expansive offence, then who knows how good they could be.....

SO....

Whilst I believe there is a clear gap in the players of City & United, that gap crucially becomes canyonesque when you look at their roles, and manager strategies.

What I am saying is.....City players are undoubtedly better...and with the genius that is Pep V the solid defensively thinking Jose......

The gap between the 2 isn't as much the players, but also, the management style.......Long may exciting/attacking/ 8 in attack rule.

Jose...you only know one way....but the game has evolved.

Pogba would look a better player in our midfield , but with Merlin and KDB playing either side , my labrador would look half decent , Pogshite is not a very good footballer by any stretch of the imagination , moving to the Rags has only highlighted his limitations , he is not a game changer , he is a support act along with the likes of a Danny Drinkwater .Iif the Rags were going to let a player leave for nowt and then resign him for £120m they would have got a better player in Danny-boy , unfortunately he wouldnt sell the shirts or have the social media profile required for the Rag marketing department.

There should be a special award for intelligence and wit from a visiting fan - you would be the undisputed winner.
I really hope , I know it’s against the odds ,that your team turns it around.
