Don't know if anyone else noticed this , but walking to the game yesterday , just passing under the bridge from Alan Turing Way , I saw two piles of GMP's finest horse manure . In each one some wag had put a card saying ' if found , please return to Old Trafford ' Really put me in a good mood for the game !

On another issue, I was wondering how many blues had bets with rags on the derby and failed to collect. In my local I was amused that the resident gobby United fanatic suddenly went blind and had problems seeing me grinning at him and all recollection of the pint wager completely slipped his mind. Sad bastards, the lot of them.

I see Scuba got away with a deliberate shove in his own penalty area todY. We can't lay off tje gas with the luck Utd are having this season.

A certain celeb fan who the BBC took the piss out of would probably know who did it ;)

Team of the year? If they ever won it they should get Robert De Niro to present the trophy in character from "Once upon a time in America"....."Noodles".

What was that someone was saying about players going down easy gust of wind wasn't it PEG?

Apparently he has now overtaken Ashley Young in the betting for next years Oscars. Haven't seen the game on TV but I assume the pundits were all over this in their after match discussion.

Spot on. They are simply throwing money at "named players" without any cohesive strategy. They have a long way to go to begin running the club in a manner that is likely to yield sustained improvement.
The problem for them has been three managers who all saw football in a different way and wanted different players. Mourinho wants a 10 Man defence full of six footers with a few rabbits who can get upfield on the counter, and if they don’t score can sprint back to the 30 yard line and get behind the ball pronto.

When he was successful overseas, it was because the teams he went to wanted success at any cost. In Milan, he had a big time crosstime rival. At Madrid, it was Barca. When he first came to England, it was all about conquering the Prem with Russian money. He comes in, assesses what the team has, does big transfer business for his second season, wins something, everyone gets sick of his moods and demeanor and year three he’s gone! At United, he’s desperate to hold on to the dream job he’s been after for years, but if they don’t start playing decent football and winning something of substance (not the second tier pots like the EL and League Cup), United won’t be able to afford to keep him and his moodiness will wear thin. His antics always do him in, and I expect nothing less this time. He has two more seasons at United tops and he is going to spend hundreds of millions MORE before he’s done!

yep, agree. They had no plan in hiring managers and it's a big problem when they're all different in football style they want to play. If Mourinho stays longer though, they'll stabilize, but if he causes another madrid/chelsea drama and they don't hire someone who'll be similar to him and there would be a pressure to not hire one like that, that could knock them down for a while.

Had a little look at the KDB's thread in redcafe. The amount of delusional there has gone up to another level. Currently they really convinced themselves that pep's giving some kind of drug to KDB after the recent performance. and they are having serious discussion about it ! Haha

From a City perspective we have employed a manager who has his own style which he insists players must buy into.

Surely the various managers you describe would have an easier task than Pep despite the player type type differences mentioned. Lucky of course that our management understood the City change but it has happened now whereas for approx the same time United have been successful points wise but failures with playing football of the type their supporters would like.

As a United fan, it's actually sad to not only see terrible football being played for 5 years but also seeing a majority of the fanbase defending it because of stat paddling. You can even get banned for criticizing Mourinho.

The actual few talented players we have are being wasted under his football, and I'm quite sure Mourinho is too stubborn to change his ways. Just our luck that a successful manager loses his knack for the game the minute he joins us. When you're struggling to make chances against West Brom, you know in deep shit. I'm not even sure we will finish top 4 this season, Chelsea and the likes will easily catch up.

Still baffled they're 2nd and have spent eye watering amounts of money.

They finish most games like a non league team who have a 1 goal lead, holding off a giant in an FA Cup tie. Last man defending and hoofing clear for 20 minutes.

There are at least 5 better teams in this league.
