Its a despicable action likely to incite violence,publicly showing that such behaviour will not be tolerated,and will be immediately dealt with,might just prevent any future escalation and any other ****s thinking it's a good idea.

I think the point MES is making is that there are scores of people dying from knife attacks, there are shootings galore, burglaries, rapes, child exploitation, slavery. Whilst it is a stupid crude obscene gesture there are more important things that need dealing with. This is something a football club should be dealing with. banning order etc.

I fully recognise that fact,as i don't walk around with my eyes closed.....however,my point about inciting violence is still valid where this sort of behaviour is concerned,and such violence could lead to full on crowd disorder which could lead to......well,you get my drift.

Banning orders are great,but that is after the event and prevention is always far more effective than cure.

And to me that is where the police get it wrong, they concentrate on the small things as it is easier and it keeps their figures up but in reality drugs and crime cause far more serious problems than some idiot making an aeroplane gesture. We are going down an off topic route.....so,while i agree with the crux of your point,we should have enough resources to deal with all crime,and obviously on a priority basis.
