United thread 2018/19

I see there seems to be some sort of insane theory floating around United forums that Jose's not been backed after receiving £350m to build a squad.

I wonder how much he'd actually need to be given before he's considered "backed".

Ony Utd, well no, Liverpool as well, are capable of taking that kind of mentality to such extremes.

If you imagine the same situation in reverse, yes, we might all be saying that we have to spend more money to turn it round, but we would be fully aware of the ridiculous sums & transfer records we had broken, the mediocrity we signed, & be blaming that, as much as any lack of investment. And we would be blaming the guy, who spent the money.

It's a special mentality they have, both rags & scousers the same.

You're all being far too harsh on United. This is difficult for them right now. City haven't said they want to sign anyone, and haven't targeted anyone in the transfer market. How on earth are United to know who to sign if City don't say anything?
Ha.

Could you imagine what player we would have had if we had spent the amount of money they have on Pogba and Lukaku?

Listen folks don't worry, utd are in transition and have been since 2013.
Forget they've spent over half a billion to make the gap between us and them bigger, that's irrelevant.
They've signed mega bucks deals with every noodle company in asia, that corner of the world is in the bag, the millions of hits and subscribers utd will receive deserves a trophy on its own.
Mourinho is in his third year but still says this isn't his team.
Pep is in his third year and his DNA is all over the city team.
He's started a public war with Woodward and the board, they've give him copious amounts of money and he's wasted it.
He's at the last chance saloon in my eyes and he doesn't do pressure very well does our jose.
Anyway roll up roll up and enjoy the utd circus whilst you can, it is going on tour from Friday and seats will be available.

The thing is, we wouldn't do it, if the rest of the team needed building. Add in Sanchez, & there's enough money to have fixed every position.

Their fee for Pogba means everyone else costs more.

I can understand why Mourinho will sulk like a baby until they sign Maguire, as he probably sees him as his best attacking threat, after watching him at set pieces at the World Cup.

It saves him having to actually play attacking football to win games.

Thats all very well, but at least the Rags never run out of chips at half time.

700 million spunked since whiskey left and the team is in worse shape, a lot of aging players on big contracts, needs a total re build down at that club from the roots upwards, their three years behind us and the gap is growing

They will scrape top four, they will do what they do and scrape out dour one nil wins at the Swamp and pick off the shitter teams away from home. Only when they play a team with a decent finisher will they get some pain. Doing just enough to protect the revenue streams is all the Glazers want to do at the moment till they have more than reasonable doubt to bin off the manager, then they have to pay him off for £12 million whilst they pay off Moyes and Van Gaal all at the same time.

Then they have to go balls deep and find another manager and god knows how much they will have to spend to get some players in to fit the new mans needs, if its someone looking to play like City, Liverpool,Spurs and soon to be Chelsea do I cant really see someone like Matic and Pogba playing a high press turn the ball over in 5 seconds game.

Personally think they'll miss out on top 4 this year, Us, Liverpool, Spurs will be too strong plus once Chelsea and Arsenal get to grips with what their new managers want they'll finish above them.

They are the new arsenal.
The biggest club in the world with the smallest ambition in the world.
I love seeing these twats eating their own words and treading water.
Mind the gap.

Don't agree there mate, think the owners are looking at what he's already spent, £400 million or so, and are saying sort it with what you've already got, he seriously can't say he needs more players or money, he should have invested wisely what he's had instead of trying to just sign marquee names.
