The beauty in all of this is what is going to come over the next 18 months.

It is clear as day that PEG is going and when they bring in a replacement it will be with a view to changing their playing style.
This means bringing in several new players, when you consider the age of the squad and the number of players likely to be released then you may be looking in excess of 10 new players being required.
Everyone linked with the club will be looking at the wages being paid to Sanchez and will be pushing for top dollar, if they fail to qualify for the CL as well then they will be forced to overpay in order to attract players.
All the time you also have Pogba sat there looking at who is coming in and the wages being paid. If he gets pushed further down the pecking order all hell will break loose.
There is a real possibility that the club who already pay the highest wage bill in the land are going to have to smash it further in order to stand still.
For all their bleating about transfer fees they are the biggest culprits, just look at Pogba and Lukaku.
They are not going to be able to make wholesale changes to their squad at the level that would be required to make them competitive on the field. 1, the Glazers won't want to pay for it, 2, FFP won't allow them to spend what they would need to.
They'll end up paying over the odds for mediocre players and the slump will continue.
They have had their time and this is how all empires end.
If the Rags think they have hit rock bottom, then they have seen nothing yet.

I think there's a very good chance we get him fired in that Derby.

They'll probably beat Newcastle which will keep him safe through the International break. Chelsea (a) will be a humbling loss against his former players and should throw up lots of fun comparisons to 2015.

Losing to Juventus twice would all but put them out of the Champions League. Ronaldo playing against them will no doubt bring a lot of unrest about how selling him started everything.

And then a humiliating derby to finish it. He's not done anything to that defence to make me think we couldn't cut through them just as easily as we did in the April game, and with revenge on the mind I think we'll put the chances away this time.
A united manger getting sacked after getting hammered by us. Not because they should have won, but because they shouldn’t have lost by that sort of margin. A little over ten years ago, that scenario would have been unimaginable. They have fallen so far.

All I can say about the Glazers is that they’re massively leaching the club to prop up their faltering mall empire, got the biggest gear habit in Christendom; or possibly both. Either way, they’re still sucking with alacrity on the united teat.

Gawd bless ‘em.

I wish I'd seen this earlier to use in the pub. I was accused of writing the rags off too early.

They really do believe they've been spending pennies compared to us and Chelsea. Someone on redcafe just called Fred a budget option. As far as I can remember he's the second most expensive midfielder ever after Pogba. Not sure how football rivalry can affect the way you see things so much.

The rags see things that way because they are told to. Their Ministry of Truth forbids them to think for themselves and the propaganda is being ably assisted by a complicit media.
If they are told Sanchez only earns £150 per week, then that is what Sanchez earns. If they are told that Phil Jones is the single greatest defender in the history of professional football, then that's exactly what he is.
