Just read the thread again and a decent spurs fan who posts it as he sees it has again put down some home truths. He is not trolling them, just saying it as it is. Considering they are looking for an echo chamber for comfort his post comforts me, as it needed saying in such terms.

Whenever I see this argument over there(and believe me, it happens a lot), I always picture united pulling up their drive in a Ferrari with his fat chest bulging out of his Sharp top. A minute later we pull up in the same Ferrari but with the latest car stereo. United kick up a fuss about empty seats or summat and who do they turn to for support in their great fight against Evil? Should always carry a united ticket stub around for these confrontations. If it escalates just flash it in his good eye to confuse him. It will buy you a split second to give him a slap.

Difference is, we walked away at the price Leicester wanted in January and we got him a lot cheaper in the summer. Utd will pay anything in desperation to get him, probably only want him because he scored a few goals from Corners in the summer

Things United need to know:

When they eventually get rid of Mourinho it will be due to lack of success, not style of football or not playing the United or whatever they call it. If it was the later he would not be there now.

The Sanchez deal they celebrated so highly is what is causing these ripples now. I don’t see Pogba going anywhere but he is on half of what Sanchez is on and he wants a new deal. When the genius that is Woodward caves in we will see more players see this and try similar.

Ed will wait till the last day of the window to pay Spurs asking price for Toby. I’m hoping Levy might add on an extra £5 million just for giggles. He’s been available all Summer for £50 million, why not have already signed him.

We may have had our disappointments this Summer by being unable to get a second DM, but we have handled it correctly and hopefully the right midfielder will present this year.

They'd have a case if what they offered was either the same or even less than what we were going to pay. United have broken the British transfer record TEN times.

Back in the late 80s United had the most expensive team ever assembled in football history. Garry Pallister cost them £2.3m in 1989, in today’s terms that’s like spending £150m on a defender from Boro.

Hughes - they did what they did with Pogba, sold him to Bayern for pittance and bought him back as the most expensive striker ever.

And on and on and on...

All this at a time when they went a quarter of a century without winning the league so it’s not like they can peddle out their line “it’s money we spent from our success”.
