Delusion on the caf

He has not been backed enough to win the PL title in my opinion. City have the better squad before both managers arrived. The chasm has even gotten wider since both have arrived because of the obscene amount of squad investment done by City. Saying this - I think Jose finishing 2nd last season is the best possible position he could have copped. Anyone expecting more actually believes Jose can walk on water.

This myth that Pep inherited a better squad than PEG is nonsense, IMHO. It was started by PEG to cover up his deficiencies and perpetuated by morons like Custis and Castles.

If the rags' squad was so poor pre-PEG, how come more of them were still at the swamp last season than there were pre- Pep players at Etihad?

If our squad was so much better when both managers arrived, why did we finish level on points?
 
I am still smiling now. Last night one of them on redcafe in order to make his incorrect point have a thin veneer of credibility needed De Bruyne to have been just about OK in his time at Wolfsburg. One of their better posters Damien probably cringed on behalf of who he was replying to as he pasted a link to a report or similar noting he is only the second non German player since Robben in 2010 to win Bundasliga player of the year xD

I won't lie, after a long day today sitting back with a glass of rioja reading their pain is giving me satisfaction.

I also said he was decent when at Hull - however he has never had any pace. I think Laporte will end up the better player. I only hope we play him enough for that to come true. We need to establish Stones / Laporte as the main pair this year.

It's a bullshit excuse to cover up their deficiencies. We finished level points the season before Pep and the eye gouger arrived, both clubs had problems, we addressed ours, and they still have 2 fullback ex wingers in the mid 30s, and no right winger, yet they are scrambling around for a cb. They are clueless, long may it continue.

There’s plenty of time for that.

They are still only 24 and it’s accepted wisdom that centre-backs develop and mature later than other positions.

Nico and Vinnie still have much to offer and can both help Aymeric and Big John in their development into (hopefully) world-class defenders.

This is before you add the likes of Mata, Martial, Herrera etc.

I've no idea where this myth that they need a massive splurge has come from, they need better coaching which I hope they don't get for a very long time.

Nail hit on head.
Utd have got a dinosaur managing them. What I can't understand is why they are linked with 3 centre halves.
Are the they planning on playing an 8-1-1 formation this season?
Very strange behaviour from them but they are more concerned about being headline news and having more tweets and followers than doing actual business.
