Any decent manager will steer well clear of that place IMO.
The damage has been done well and truly, don't see any top manager wanting the job,bar the odd greedy bastard.

I’d also argue that Pochettino has taken spurs as far as he can.... make no mistake, regardless of the shenanigans behind the scenes, it’s still one of the most desirable jobs in football. I’m just hoping it’s given to Zidane, that would just extend the agony as he’s far from ready to build them back up!

Actually I think Pochettino would only go there to spend money. He's done the youth thing, the long term building thing, he's taken it as far as it's going to go. He's being held back at Spurs by the inability to spend similar figures to ourselves, Liverpool and Mourinho's United.

If they aren't going to give him a massive budget, he might as well stay at Spurs.

See above...... I’d add though that he has spent wisely more often than not

Agree regards Zidane,I just don't see Poch going there,he'd be mad to.
Maybe if they got someone in to stabilise it first, bacon chops success is everyone else's downfall,IMO.

I’ve always thought the factor that underscored his relationship with the Glazers more than any other was Rock of Gibraltar and the associated 99 questions. I wonder what was said (and unsaid) between the two parties around that time. Ferguson’s acquiescence must have contained some form of trade-off, as I reckon he was bang to rights.

Maybe we should have a statue of it put up somewhere?

It’s criminal how infrequently it gets cited as the root of their demise. If someone with serious cash had bought united at the start of the century, the club would be in much better nick right now and that individual would have made a fucking mint. The Glazers are a cancer on that club. They are bleeding it dry.

And have benefitted English football competition by doing so (to some degree) - how many hundreds of millions have they leached out?

Do you think so ? He's spent about £200m and I'd say over half (c £120m) of that has been badly spent. Sissokho, N'jie, Nkoudou, Llorente, Foyth, Aurier, Wimmer, Janssen...

He's got 2 or 3 misses for every hit in my book. It's also noticeable that at a club where money is tight, it's the bigger deals he does worse at.

I'd have no fear of him spending money at United personally, I'd be more concerned by a good DoF.

Mourinho clearly pushing for the sack. He wants out. Fielding a back 5 and Fellaini and Matic away at West Ham. No intent to win that game. He is doing all he can to get the sack.

The past few years have really taken a toll on them. Mourinhos football is atrocious, but theyve been bleeding talent for years now.

Of their squad how many would you realistically take? Off the top of my head I could be talked into De Gea, Pogba, Martial, Mata, and Fred...and even then, I feel like I'm being generous. Mata is old. Is Fred shit or just being held back? Why has Martial never progressed? Maybe you could convince me there is room for growth in Rashford.

Players like Lukaku, Fellaini, Herrera, Valencia, Young, Lingard and Phil fucking Jones feature heavily for them and have no business starting for a top 4 side.

They have a narcissistic dinosaur of manager, an aging squad in need of a major talent injection if not a complete overhaul, and a mountain of debt lurking right around the corner. They are in a much worse spot then most people seem to think.

I thin Martial really could be a great player, given the chance.
Pogba with a team that plays to his strengths, rather than one that negates them, too, but it would require Deschamps by the look of things! Give him a winger to create space, and he's a much better player.
The young defenders (Fosu-Mensah for example) looked promising under van Gaal, but are out on loan or gone.

It was a bit dull, but van Gaal's team at least had a plan.

That is chicken feed over 4 years, which has punched them well above their weight class... I also remember you were of the same opinion not two weeks ago in terms of a potential appointment... I’m not particularly arsed anyway as united will go down another route, however you seem to struggle on the financial side of business, his net spend is £50m in those four years, measuring the success of a player individually in that time doesn’t quite paint the whole picture, now does it?

I don't want them to have Pochettino because I think he'll get the best out of the players they have. I've got no fears about their transfer strategy becoming brilliant if he joins though, both make a lot of poor transfers and that would continue if he joined them

I would happily take Lingard and Radford. Pep could really bring them on at City

Rashford is fucking shite and so is Lingard.
They will end up at some club with an ex rag manager who will pay over the odds for them.
Neither of them would be anywhere near the quality needed to get in our squad, never mind the team.

I agree about Rashford. With the proper coaching and system, he'd shine. With the amount of movement off the ball we have and the amount of chances created, I can't imagine how good he'd be. Same with Martial who's a better talent.

Don't know about Lingard. He's fast but has always had a low football IQ, in my opinion. Lots of wrong decisions.
