Reminds me of an old joke that would seem more pertinent today than ever. (Once told by Joe Mercer, no less.) A policeman is walking past hole trafford in the middle of the night and he spots someone climbing out of a window about 20ft from the ground. 'Hey, you!' shouts the policeman, 'Get back in!'.

I don't know why you keep saying that...they had 2 proven managers and they did a much, much better job. Mourinho and Van Gaal had them in the top 4 and won trophies.

Solskjaer inherited Mourinho's squad and spent £150m on the defence to make them worse. He's actively damaging them week by week. I'm not going to be upset if they stick by him obviously, but it's a terrible decision from their point of view.

Mourinho won leagues. Trophies. One of the most successful managers in the modern game. I think by his own standards and that of what they have achieved over the years, it is quite a significant way off.

My point is clear, they have been on the decline for a number of years and no manager is going to save them. The issues lie deeper and higher.

Your argument is somewhat different. You are comparing his to work to others and suggesting that ones before were better.
