United thread 2019/20

My theory all along has been that Ferguson is such a big headed old git, he secretly loves watching their decline since he retired as it plays to the narrative that all of their success was because of him and it all fell apart when he went. Recommending 'Moyesie' as his successor was the first big step towards his masterplan.

The rest of football is loving it though. Their supporters are so spoilt by it all that they can't handle the mediocrity. As I said yesterday, they should take a look at Bury and Bolton to see real suffering. Last year I heard a United fan call into Talksport, he had a southern accent and I will never forget his cry: "Haven't we suffered enough?". Unreal

The capture of Van Persie epitomised what drove Fergie as his reign came to a close and the willingness of those around him to let him do whatever he wanted.

He couldn't take city being champions so just had to go out on a high, probably extended his career just to do so. He knew if we got Van Persie we'd probably kick on a level. He put any thoughts of paving the way for the next generation, or recruiting where they actually needed it, to get him and stop us. Agree completely that he is big headed enough to secretly enjoy their decline since he left.

The fact that he is so untouchable still today at Old Trafford, that it actually blinds them to the fact he has caused some of these issues, hints at the size of the real problem they face now. And to be fair, his way was to get more out of average players and bully referees based on his status and accomplishments, so how on Earth they expected to replace that is questionable. Should have had a plan in place, didn't, so asked the egotist at the last minute how to find someone to equal his own accomplishments.

I actually don't think their recruitment under ole has been that bad, they have an idea to bring in young, fast players and play counter attacking football. Trouble is, their fanbase isn't patient enough to wait for success, so they are now actually likely to derail this latest attempt. Lovely.

What did they used to say? Not better, just arrogant.

Anyway, enough of them for today for me. Looking forward to seeing some proper football today, I hope!

Yer've gotta give due credit where it's due, Lupo. The GPC would readily agree that OMR made a tremendous difference to MANUre's on field play!

Always thought Pogshite was a vastly overrated player , but you can recognise why his scummy agent is looking to line his pockets again , if the Prancing Pony stays with the Rags for the next decade he isnt going to win f*ck all , he isnt the type of human being to commit to a long term project , he wants to be the poster boy and the Tweet champ of the world , he's only playing football for himself ,but any club potentially paying £150m for this clown need their bumps feeling

Exactly, and this is what gets me.

I read that he is going into the final 18 months of his contract, if so and he has made it clear he is leaving then the Rags will be wanting to sell him to maximise his value. The fact that he has done next to nothing of any note for the club in the last 2 years should hardly enhance this. It would be great if any interested clubs made a pact to set a limit of say £70 million as a transfer fee but what ever they wanted in wages and agents fees.

All this talk of £150 million is a laugh.

As a thought, who would you rather have in your side now Bernardo or Pogba?

Would we get £150 million for Bernardo?

Would rather have Kevin Horlock in my side than Pogshite

They're not to confident about todays game.
When asking a few where they are gonna watch it i was met with some real corkers of excuses. Two of the biggest gobshites i know are going to stay in a pub in the middle of nowhere and ''not bother with the game'' because they ''promised the wives'' they'd get a footy free day.
Another one is going ''shopping for a new couch'', and my favourite from an ST holder who flogs his ticket on facebook; ''I'm deep cleaning the kitchen.''
I'll be in the pub cheering Ollie and his boys on....

Wouldn't suprise me if he does leave then the rags will include his wages as part of his transfer fee
