Today is the culmination of several years' worth of deceit, excuses and general shithousery from the rags, the need and blame for which fingers no other culprit than themsleves. It shines a light on the self-entitled attitude that is inherent - one might even say in the DNA - of this club.
City's owners have wisely and quietly got on with planning sustainable investments in infrastructure, club and community that would yield long term value.
In contrast, the rags have tried to compete via short-term sensationalism and soundbites (van der beek, pogba, macguire, et al. - is Wesley Schneider still on his way?), manipulation of the rules and attempting to influence the authorities to suit (FFP, hateful 8, ESL).
This petty, toxic culture of unaccountability has now spread down to the fans (even to their supposedly neutral ex-player pundits who only continue to enable it via distraction and smokescreen), to the point where because we are dominating them on all fronts on such a regular basis, they have nowhere left to go than trying to bring the whole lot down, claiming they are doing it for the good of the game, and leveraging their peevish inability to cope with it to justify their actions, tacitly suggesting elevsting themselves to being bigger than the game itself and 'deserve better' - for no apparent reason other than it's not what they have been used to in the past.
After the ESL farce, the PL should do them and everyone else a favour and throw the book at them
