Which club is the scarf claiming to be 'The pride of England'?
I don't really understand what the Glazers have done wrong. They have always appeared to have fully supported their numerous managers with money to splash on marquee signings. They get the players to stay with one of the biggest wage bills in the game of football and they have grown the fan base from 659 million to 1.1billion. So they pay themselves a dividend on their share holdings, it is business, that is the way it is. Maybe the idiots should be complaining that the amount of tax paid into the country is very low as they are registered as an overseas business based in the Caymen islands and also complain about the lack of local investment. Perhaps this is what they should be complaining about.
Your last sentence is the main issue, they spend on players and manage the debt. I am not a financial expert but this seems to be a sustainable situation at this time. Does the level of debt affect the spending ability of the club at this time? It's the debt they saddled the club with, they couldn't afford to buy united so borrowed and then transfered the repayments to united, the rags arguement (well the ones who have been doing this for a decade now) is that no loan repayments and debt well that money would be reinvested into the club.
If the club suddenly lost revenue and stopped turning a profit then they would go under as financially they are fucked if unsucessful.
We would hate it if own owner had done the same tbf.
However they still compete and the debt is managable and because of their global brand the likelyhood of revenue dipping to a point where it is an issue is slim so they have fuck all to moan about, and insult fans of bury, pompey, chester, macc etc when they compare their situation with them.
