United thread 2020/21

I used to get so much stick from people in the past about how much of a joke City are. When we used to stumble from one mishap to another, the Swales era and all that.
Work colleagues would actively look for me in the mornings after another humiliating defeat and lay it on thick about how poor we were, how we can't even beat (insert whichever team you like here), and although it hurt my feelings, I accepted that we were garbage and put on the old stiff upper lip thing and just got on with it.

Fast forward a few years and see how the tables have turned: we are successful, we have trophies galore, we have players like Sergio and Kevin, and Merlin (yes, I know...), we play arguably the finest football that has ever been played in this country, and even if the media refuse to acknowledge our ascent, football fans from all over the globe can see for themselves what a transformation has taken place at the club.

In stark contrast to the rags. Won sweet FA for the last few years, change manager's as regularly as Chelsea used to, play dull, unadventurous football and are financially crippled because of American owners. Helped into a CL place by the crooked bastards behind VAR, AND their captain is a convicted, violent drunkard with the IQ of a slice of toast.

I don't get stick from my former colleagues anymore. They actively avoid me when we've taken some team to the cleaners, 1 - 6 (just a random number, honest!).
But do I give them all stick and remind them of how they used to take the piss out of me, and how things have changed so dramatically within the last decade...you bet your life I do, with interest.

It's pretty nauseating, and wholly unnecessary.

Good for you.

Make hay while the sun shines, as the old saying goes.

Events. Suspicious patterns of betting on the game between Liverpool and Manchester United led to allegations of match fixing and the 1915 British football betting scandal. Eventually seven players (three from United, four from Liverpool) were banned from football.
First Division: Everton (2)
Southern League: Watford
FA Cup: Sheffield United (3)
Second Division: Derby County

SO THATS WHAT THEY MEAN ABOUT HISTORY !!
