It dug deep into the club as well as us fans, we had the ticket going down on the big screens v QPR and I'm struggling too remember who but I remember some players holding a version of it in flag form.

I sailed with a rag tosser who had a watch version of that banner I kid you not. The face was made up to look the same and every year it turned over like the banner. Needless to say he was from down south and I could happily have thrown him and the watch over the side.

Yes that banner turned what was obviously a strong dislike into pure hatred for that club. It went beyond banter and the fact the club allowed it to stay there just fuelled the hatred even more. Don't forget we were light years behind them at the time and there was a good possibility it could have kept clocking up forever. Oh and didn't the media just love to remind us.

I'm a bit confused how the rag shitehouses that made that banner were never paid a visit and told to get rid.

A copy should be made and shown to new players as a brief history and put in the dressing room.before every derby.

If their drought continues a good compromise would be a banner saying, " We were going to start a countdown clock, but we have more class." Or similar.

That was a fantastic touch by the club, right near me in the south stand. Criminal it took us ,44 years to with the league after 1968 though we really should have won it in 1972 and 1977/8.

The only downside to their defeat, if there is one? :-)

They have a team capable of winning the Europa League.

Which would give Ole his first trophy, and they would get into pot 1 of the CL next season.

It’s safe to say UEFA will draw the easiest teams possible for United in the Europa League, and United will only face a tough team in the final, and UEFA will make sure the ref knows his Job and what to do in the final.

I hope they get to the final as it'll fuck up the premier league campaign and face Real Sociedad and Merlin scores the winner

Always said the best banner of the lot would be a picture from the stadium of light with the hag in the red jumper and the guy on the radio with a simple

I've always thought a great banner would be a print of the guy on the radio and the hag in the red jumper with the simple caption " THEY'VE JUST HEARD THE NEWS AT THE STADIUM OF LIGHT"

I think that St. Bruno found out last night why the Rags are paying him so much! If only they had had a player on the pitch who could have conned the ref on 90+7 and done an 'Ash the Crash' thin air gentle tumble or tripped over the grass and St. Bruno could have got them the point and denied RB two of their three. The RDAHMeedya jinxed it for 'em - only a few weeks ago they were gloating that MANUre only needed two draws from their last two games! Have it, Ollie. That's what it's like to be United, that's what it's like to be crap! (Hope I haven't jinxed our 1-6 on Saturday!)

I love to see these bastards lose and especially knocked out of cups and losing money.

But it's always tempered with a slight worry they'll get a competent manager and buy decent players. Hopefully Solskjaer stays and the club decides they've lost too much revenue to go after Sancho or Haaland.

I really hope they just slip into being seen by fans, media and players as just another club like Newcastle or Villa.
