I haven’t seen it mentioned, but City has never been a team to go and buy very expensive players. Pogba was the highest priced Premier League signing ever, according to Transfermarkt. The rags have the top 3 spots and arse, dippers and chelsea all have bigger signings than our most expensive - KdB at £68.4 million (thought is was a lot less, like £50). Pogba was 40% more expensive!

We have filled our team with quality signings that satisfy certain criteria, of which fame seems to be of little consequence. Paying what dippers did for van dijk was foolish and demonstrates the short term thinking of their management. A big, strong pacey Cb in his late twenties for that price is just asking for what happened to happen.

It’s like these dumb fucks don’t understand that when you buy a player at 26/27 they’re a depreciating asset. When you buy them at 23, there is potential for their value to meaningfully increase. How this is lost on them is beyond me.

Our current first choice back four (Cancelo Dias Stones Zinchenko) cost £171.54m, whereas United’s (WanBissaka Maguire Lindeloff Shaw) cost £193.05m.

Yes, we’ve got another £58m defender on the bench n’all in Laporte. But if United stopped wasting money on the likes of Di Maria, Depay, Lukaku, Sanchez, (and you could bring in Maguire and Pogba to the conversation for overinflated wasted money n’all!) for a total in transfer fees of ~£380m!, they’d have the opportunity to buy eight £47.5m players to get some strength in depth!
You forgot about Bailly... how much did he cost them?

The transfer fees are adjusted back based on the exchange rate at the time the table was last updated.

For example kev was £55m. At the time one pound was 1.37 Euros so 75.35 million Euros. Now one pound is only worth 1.16 Euros so if you work it back the transfer is now just under £65m.

A bullshit way of inflating/deflating transfer fees to suit an agenda.
