The bit I find weirdest is their obsession with us buying defenders, as if that is somehow different to buying attackers and not allowed? They bring it up all the time, it's properly weird. Their defence wasn't exactly cheap either, but why on earth would you differentiate between what position you spent money on? It's really odd
The clowns, media and rival fans, who come out with this shit, overlook a major factor. In the summer of 2017 all 4 of our squad full backs left. They were all over 30 with Zaba, Clichy and Sagna leaving on frees at the end of their contracts and Kolarov with one year left wanted to move to Roma.

What was Pep supposed to do? Start the new season with no full backs? That's why he bought Mendy, Walker and Danilo. Three full backs in to replace four out. That's when he converted £1.7 million midfielder Zinchenko to left back. City paid £27 million for Danilo and got £33 million back for him when he went to Juventus at the same time Cancelo moved the other way. City's nett spend on Cancelo was therefore £27 million.
