My memory might be hazy but I'm sure there was a place on Great Western St early 80's like the Plaza. I think it was called Johnnies and had a similar menu. Mild, Medium, Hot, Johnny Special and one life threatening curry named Call the ambulance.

There was , Somali Sports & Social Club ...aka The Palace , many a Friday & Saturday night walked from town , short of money and it filled a gap & a hole in our stumochs , curry for a pound , stack of popedoms up to the ceiling , the madras was like brown soup with bits of chicken floating in it ...gorgeous . You’d open the door at 3.am and it was rammed , like a Chicago speakeasy full of lads from the match doing the same thing ....glorious days
