What's that old saying about imitation being the sincerest form of flattery?

Do they not realise the significance was that Tevez played for United (with a great amount of success), then joined City immediately after? He was a cult hero and then he joined their rivals. Real egg on face stuff.

Sancho left City 4 years ago having only spent 2 years in the academy having made no impact on the first team. No City fan particularly loves him, partially because they never had the chance to.

On top of that, there's you know, the whole Manchester - Salford thing!!

This would be like if we did the same stunt for fucking Kanchelskis, except even then it'd have made more sense than this because the Manchester dig still works.

The funny thing was the amount of piss boiling our poster made and it was true. Playing for those lot he had not played in Manchester bar games v Us. Taking a star player direct from a rival and some of them even thought they had received a transfer fee from us when they did not get a penny.
Their poster is desperate, not true as he had played for us for years in Manchester for the younger teams plus the little matter of they are not in Manchester and any city fans who sees it just chuckles at the desperation of them and certainly not the piss boiling our original poster made amongst that lot.

On top of it all, the real lasting legacy is it prompted the noisy neighbours comment.

I'm not sure Varane is that good. You look at Van Dijk or Dias and it's obvious straight away that they are top defenders. It was always Ramos I noticed at Madrid. I never noticed Varane. Utd need a player who is quick enough to cover for Maguire and who is competent. I think he's a good signing for them but not transformative.

They will be top 4 next season but I can't see them having enough to win the title. Chelsea, Liverpool and City are all stronger.
He'll be on the same side with Wan Bissaka, who both switch off. Can see them still conceding goals
