I still think Silva left us a season or two too early.

Always leave the audience wanting more I suppose, first rule of showbusiness.
He left early from a fan's pov, but it's his life too. He gave us ten years which is more than fair. I see Kun in his fairwell speech said he did not expect to be here for a decade when he signed and added: "everyone knows how l feel about City." A great compliment to the club.

Baffles the life out of me that so many fans and so-called expert journalists don't understand how this works (or refuse to acknowledge it for 'bants').

Nike don't pay millions and millions of dollars in shirt sponsorships to just let the clubs pocket all the cash from sales, effectively losing money on every sale while the club gets paid twice.

Shirt sales go to the sponsor. A club signing X megastar doesn't "recoup that back in shirt sales" no matter what Dave in 'Footy Bantz group' on Facebook says.
But I keep reading how all their players are effectively costing the club nothing because of all the shirt sales. How very dare you burst their bubble and tell the truth.

The amount of times this happens with their players and manager, only for it to blow up in their faces, you’d think they’d learn their lesson but oh no, now we have “godfather of German football”. A man that’s one won Intertoto cup ffs haha!

Surely money changes hands. You think of the boost in image rights that top notch, hyperbolic positive press has both for the player and club and it must be worth paying for.

scored against Sunderland and there was a media campaign to get his Nationality changed to English

It's the same every single time with young united players. Contrast that to the coverage of young City talent. With Foden it was all "Pep not giving him enough time", "Foden needs to go out on loan", "Foden signs contract to warm the bench".
Well maybe, just maybe, the way Pep managed Foden was in fact an object lesson in how to carefully nurture young talent.
Who will be the next united youth graduate to be feted as the next big thing before they are out of nappies?

If they want to attract the best managers, the players should be pulling up trees trying to show their value. Downing tools and looking like slapped arses will continue to hurt them.

For me, the greater issues lie beyond the manager and players and the board need a long hard look in the mirror and make unpopular decisions.

They won't, which is great news.

That’s the best bit, the board need to make huge changes which the fans won’t like. The fans don’t like what the board are doing now, imagine if they started to dismantle the mythical United Way and DNA bullshit. Imagine if they told Ferguson to sling his hook.

What that clubs needs, no one involved wants. It’s a brilliant self perpetuating cycle.
That’s why Conte wasn’t the “right fit”..
