Fuck me £560k per week !

If City were competing with that then it's no wonder told them to fuck off. That would have totally screwed our wage structure.

Utd really are the PSG of this country! Fkin hollywood signings at any cost.
560K week is nothing. City was prepared to pay Messi more then 1 Million per week.

Ronaldo and Messi will get huge amount Money back from Sponsors. The bigger Issue are giving dross like De Gea , Martial 375K per Week. That's why City is hesitating to give Sterling his demands of 350k per Week.

Another example is Barcelona with their bloated Wagebill

Interesting. Watching Juve V Empoli last night.

Commentator stated, and I quote, "Massimiliano Allegri" wanted Ronaldo out of Juventus. But over here it was being spun Ronaldo wanted out of Juventus. Juventus lost at home to Empoli 0-1.

I can't believe some people are happy we didn't get Ronaldo. This isn't about us needing a striker or him being an ex rag, this was about dismantling that club and their brand forever.
They would have never recovered from that blow, their history would have been tarnished.

Manchester United getting crippled by his wages or a toxic dressing room is nowhere closer to any of the damage it would have done to them if we got Ronaldo, the worst thing thay could happen is them going trophyless again.

Name a team that was subject to a (originaly accepted) takeover bid of Xmillion (ie the value of the entire club at that instant and a reasonable punt to the future) the same football year they then spent an almost identical net (not gross) spending transfers in of Xmillion.

if you’re struggling, this is well before FFP was a twinkle in the eye of uefa.

It’s also well before ‘ruining the game’ became a goto for describing other clubs.

it’s also well before ‘organic growth’ could be used to describe this unprecedented season spend on the back of previous years million losses.

it’s well before outside investment (share issue to raise money) in a football club became a byword for ‘buying the league’

any guesses?

hint: X = 10

hint2: the team doesn’t play in Manchester
Can someone post this on Red Cafe and see if they have any takers?

For all the usual talk of us ruining the game as i understand it the Rags have now spent around £145 million and as far as I know they have only recouped less than £10 million.

And yet they still haven't sorted out the main issues they have,
I know I'm about to fuse the thinking of two threads here but, the Macheda money?

They’ll dismantle the brand together, they’ll have a few weeks honeymoon period but there will be zebra pants & mibs on the pitch by May.

Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo, 36, will become the highest-paid player in Premier League history when he completes his move from Juventus to Manchester United

from the Telegraph. Considering they paid the Piano man 400-500k a week god knows what they are paying him. Let’s see how many other media outlets report the wages.

We didn’t though it’s the scum as always get dooped into paying high wages!

I think they did a good job last season dismantling themselves with the smashing up of their stadium and the protests.
This signing of Ronaldo, or PR7 as he should be known now as it's all a PR exercise, will give them a shot in the arm for 12 months, the money they'll generate from him being there will pay his wages for a few months then the rest is straight into the Glazers sky rocket.

But we should all remember that every ex rag player is coming out with the story that they only signed him to stop him coming here.

Job done if you ask me.

I'm more than happy that I never wanted him, and that we didn't get him.

Striker, brand or ruining their 'iiiiiiiistory, I don't want him or his like near our club.

Not liked him for circa 15 years, not about to change that viewpoint now...........

Good to hear that some are now reporting there capture of ronaldo for what it is....

- romance signing
- not moving forward
- living on past glories
- biggest wage ever in the premier league

Ornstein on SSN has just discussed the same thing

Apparently the glazers were told that he is the football Tom Brady, they are going to hope that this signing will reep the rewards and trophies

I believe they best get ready for a a disappointment : )

I think united fans having a chuckle at City fans getting excited about the putative signing of Ronaldo is fair game, as much as City fans laughing at united fans calling him Judas, as many of them did.

The serious laughter, however, should be reserved for those united fans who were protesting about their owners a few short months ago whose silence has now been bought, despite this purchase being in those owner’s best commercial interests and cementing their ownership of the club.

Absolute fucking mugs. Played like a fucking fiddle.
