Having said that, it's worth mentioning that Solskjaer inherited a similar situation and actually did really well with it for the first half season.
Yeah - luck? Motivation that ran out once players figured out that they could get away without trying? Who knows...

Until United sort out their ownership-management-scouting mess, they're screwed. They'll pay top to remain in contention but squander their investment due to lack of player motivation.
 
I always think that sort of tight call should either go to the attacker, or just go with the on field decision. Otherwise you end up with this situation where they can basically make it onside or offside purely on which frame they choose.
Completely agree, VAR should not be used to just disallow good goals, however that policy needs to be applied for EVERYONE.
 
If a team as piss-poor as the Rags can be 4th, maybe the EPL is not as good as people make out. Maybe the teams from 5th-20th should stop whining about City, consider their own dire management and lack of ambition, and reflect on the fact that they are all among the richest clubs in Europe - and thus effectively the world. Maybe they should stop taking money out for shareholders and start investing in their product.
