United are essentially playing the same style they have done for the last decade. Counter attacks with long balls into the channels and swift crosses from the diagonal of the penalty box because their wide players are not good enough to reach the byeline. They also rely heavily on set pieces. This is old-fashioned football which can be effective against the poorer sides but will not win any league titles. It might work in the Europa league but not in the Champions League for example. They have a pitiful goals tally playing this way.

Thread bare squad with only Rashford getting the goals. Antony and Sancho have been terrible considering the outlay of money for both of them. When they have to play Premier League on a weekend then Champions league midweek next season they will be in real trouble.

Never understood this snobbery. I’ve seen Pep use Javi Martinez and Gerard Pique as the big man up front and Ederson is celebrated for smashing it long over the top. When you have a player like Bruno who excels at long passing and you’re playing him deep then it makes sense

Koeman has played pique up front as a late tactical change whist chasing a lost case. Quite sure guardiola never has. Unless you can provide suitable evidence?

He’s not as good as John McGinn who cost under 5m. But he’s a product of the wonderfully successful Rag youth talent production line that constantly turns out world class stars, that on the CV adds tens of millions.
