In the past 5 years in ‘net spend’ terms we’ve had a negative £173m

That’s a ‘loss’ per season on transfers of less than £35m - omg it’s insane!!!!

Compare with United’s last 5 seasons … the figures are horrendous.

But yes, City’s spending is insane say the United fans…

what about the £5 billion of agent and signing-on fees that clearly aren't included

He should have showed some loyalty to brentford , they gave him the way back into football whilst the rags waited to see how he was
He's a decent proffesional and fair play to him, he's gone for the chance of champions league football. It's an rank outside chance mind but a chance non the less. He would have been far more a decent proffesional if he's stayed at Brentford and paid them back. Still like the guy.....

Well that’s fucking shit. Why was no-one else in for him?
I thought the same but in the cold light of day he is 33 years old, had a heart attack on the pitch last year and I cant see how he possibly fits into a pressing style that Tent Peg wants to play. Interesting that as a free transfer it was only between Brentford and the Rags, nobody else went for him and i suspect with good reason.

Heres a thought, they passed on the chance to sign him when he left Spurs, if he wasnt good enough then what has changed? He is older and as we all know has suffered major health issues. I cant see anything that is more attractive about him as a player other than it being a free transfer.
