Just seen that united fans chanting 'Chelsea rent boys ' has been branded homophobic.

Not to side with united or their ratty crew, but... Isn't this going a bit too far now? I mean, the whole point of that chant was to point out the mercenary trait of the Chelsea players, originating back with their takeover, and rent boys themselves can be straight, gay or bi I suppose, depending on who is paying. They'll do anything for money, including signing for a Russian oligarch, nobody is mentioning reach arounds.

Could we just possibly have a situation here where people who don't understand or even much like football - the game, the chants and the history - are becoming outraged at things they are now intentionally looking out for and interpreting in a way that can continue to fuel their self centered rage?

I fear we're heading down a dark path where 'walking in a city wonderland ' is classed as villageist, dementia UK pipe up after one referee is told 'you don't know what you're doing' and the Echo starts a campaign for class equality in football after Jordan Henderson is praised for his workmanlike performance.

But still nobody will give a toss about Liverpool claiming they're Scouse not English , where jumping around celebrating the monarch's death is selectively ignored.

Yes, of course 'rent boys' matter too (things I thought I'd never post #327) but to give this apparent parity of coverage and weight with issues such as blatant racism, and less even than 20 Liverpool fans taking down a lone west ham fan...now that's an injustice!

*edit* just read that in January 2022 the crown prosecution service recognised the chant legally as homophobic. I'd disagree, but there you go, you're subject to prosecution if you sign that song. Not sure if you tar allowed to call them prostitutes or escorts either to be honest.

That’s not the origin of that particular chant though mate. It’s been sung since the 80s after a particular incident.

I'm aware this is the rag thread but the Forest fans also got slagged off for singing 'Sign on'. We really have lost the plot. Soon 'You're shit and you know you are' will be deemed bullying.

I think the plot was lost long ago …. “You’re not incredible” anyone ? And if memory is correct, we got fined ?

Why are Murphy and Keown wanking themselves over cashimero on MOTD ? I know they are desperate for them to be relevant in this league, but i hardly recognised the feared striker they were ejaculating over .

Are they back ?

I don’t see this “corner” they have turned

If not for an injury time equaliser yesterday, their last 5 premier league games would’ve been 2 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw.

Even so, they still only have 2 wins in their last 5 league games

Then two life and death games with some Cypriot electricians and taxi drivers in the middle
