It was the fallout over the "Rock of Gibraltar" case. Magnier and McManus (the two Irish majority shareholders at OT) were furious at Ferguson, and sold their stake to the Glazers. Therefore, quite a lot of utd fans hold Ferguson at least partly responsible for the Glazers getting their feet under the table at "TWGC"™. Do a quick Google search for Rock of Gibraltar".
