The disdain shown by some fans in this country towards the ‘lesser’ of the major trophies is simply stupid behaviour. The ‘it’s a Micky Mouse trophy anyway’ crowd within every set of fans used to either mock other clubs for being in it or after they’ve been knocked out makes people look daft. The FA Cup, EFL Cup and Europa League are all cracking trophies to win. The Europa League would stand proudly in our trophy room if we ever won it as just our second ever piece of European silverware.

Christ look at Roma fans and players and Mourinho after they won the Europa Conference last season. They were buzzing with hundreds of thousands of their fans out for the parade.

City haven’t even won the UEFA Cup/Europa League in our history, never mind the Champions League, and we mock other teams because they’re in that competition? That’s not right for me. Playing in and never winning a competition like us in the CL gives us no real brag over anyone about the Europa League. If we’d won both of those trophies maybe we’d have an argument but since we haven’t it makes us look a bit silly.

United fans used to do exactly the same thing; singing ‘Thursday nights on Channel 5’ at clubs because they were in the UEFA Cup/Europa League. How silly do their fans look now they’re buzzing they’ve won in the Ro32 in that very same competition?

And it’s likely that after Pep leaves, we will be overtaken in the league and we might not qualify for the CL every season like we do now and could have a number of years in the next few decades in the Europa League and I hope we go on to win it every season we find ourselves in it.
Innit, you can't take the piss out of a trophy you've never won.

Bang on. Several times the ball was hoofed from the edge of their box for one of the speed merchants to chase after it.
Only works against teams who play a high line like Barca did last night. If they'd have dropped off 10/15 yds it would nullified Rashford/Sancho/Anthony.

Neither of the goals came from balls over the top, though? There were Barcelona defenders in front of the ball on both occasions. Rashford and Sancho were awful all night.

I'm not just saying this because I hate the scummy bastards but they are fucking shit.
People need to remember the Ole is at the wheel got them to a bloody Europa League Final (and lost), Maureen won them the Europa League and on both occasions finished second in the league.
They blew smoke up their arse so many times under the last few seasons when they start getting giddy for making it through to the last 16 of the Europa League ffs

The amount of people on this forum slating City with how they are playing this season yet we are second in the league, still in the FA Cup and Champions League...But supposedly the Thursday night twats are "improving" and "playing well".

This is the worst City side in the about 7 years and we are still ahead of the fuckers. Says it all really.
This is not the worst City side, this is the best City side ever. There are 2 internationals for every position. The quality has never been better. Haaland is the best striker in world football. De Bruyne is the most creative player in world football. You can go through the whole team and not find one weak link. There are no McTominay's or Maguires in the current squad. The problem is not the personnel, it is a combination of complacency, attitude and a bit of Pep tinkering. Also, it would seem that the World Cup took something out of a few players, and I don't know why? (Foden)

There is a huge difference between Ten Hag and Ole. Ten Hag plays aggressive football, they win the ball off the opposition. When they loose it, they get it back quickly. They play on the front foot, always going forward, always direct. Also helps with some of the characters signed in the summer. Casemiro and Martinez. He's also fucked off all the Diva's. Anyone not willing to graft gets binned. Attacking players are allowed to make mistakes, because they have the aggressive press behind them when they lose the ball. When Rashford or Antony fuck up, Casemiro is right in behind them to win the ball back. You could liken it to City of 2 seasons ago with Fernandinho. When you have that safety blanket behind you, it gives confidence to creative players.

For his first 2 seasons, Ole played with everyone behind the ball, they let the opposition have all of the possession and held their shape, and as soon as the opposition made a mistake they would counter attack them. They would have 30% procession, 2 shots on goal and win the game. (Remember that lockdown derby) They would fluke wins. Ole came unstuck when he tried to play higher up the pitch and have more procession, because it exposed Maguire's lack of pace. They got battered when they tried to go toe to toe with anyone.
