I am disappointed to read in this thread that Blues are still saying Ten Bob has improved them, yes @KentBlue I'm looking at you especially.
2-0 down in a knockout competition and the managers answer is to bring on a centre forward that relegated Burnley sent out on loan ! That's improvement !
I presume most of you saying this shit work for the government or the Bank of England.
Agreed.if you go back to their previous game at downtrodden Forest ,the ref not spotting the maguire pen incident at nil nil and not sending him off..
And their own farcical offside goal against us when 1nil down at home...you could quite easily imagine them without 6 pts....then their posistion would be a lot different, ...hard to justify the he's improved them argument.not forgetting the incidents at Fulham...
The current management of that club is an Embarrassment.
In Football, your only as good as your last game......there are no words..

He is slow to turn agreed, but I'll say one nice thing about him (feeling generous after last night!), he was magnificent for Leicester at the Etihad when we beat them 1-0 with Kompany's goal. All game he was great on the ball, almost as if he was trying to impress Pep! And it's all been downhill since then for him...
So if we could buy him this summer, would you think he is a good addition to the squad @mattcity5

Refereed correctly they’d have at least 10 pts less out of the FA Cup, out of top 4 swimming in a sea of green & gold & theyll have realised they’ve made no progress since the days of Mad Louis.

Ha. I'd say that ship has slowly performed a 7-point turn and very, very, gradually accelerated into the distance...

I think his confidence is shot and i don't think he's intelligent enough to adapt to Pep's tactics. I'm sure Pep could do a job with him, but he's not as good as any of the defenders we have, so not much point considering it even.

There's still a good player in there somewhere though, just not at our level. Hopefully for his sake he gets a half-decent move and plays out of his skin every time he's up against united.

I think the club could do more to protect him, and obviously there are idiots who cross lines, but he's a star signing for one of the biggest clubs in the most watched league.
The club could do more to protect him..by not selecting him for the 1st team. There must be a " brilliant" young academy reserve centre back who can temporarily fill in for a bit,or maybe the women's team could loan their No.5 to slot in..

Playing football ,whilst a wanted man in a country not too far away from Spain cannot have helped his concentration...

Personally I have zero sympathy for a player who systematically ..and unnecessarily ..destroyed the achilles tendon of Phil Foden whilst at leicester city a few years ago( a disgraceful challenge)putting him out the game for 3 months...He is a walking disaster, and selecting him is indicative of the mess utd are in.

Correct and I’ve been saying this all along, including when being picked for England. The goal last night wasn’t his fault, that ball shouldn’t have been passed to him and should have been hammered up field by de Gea. Maguire had three players around him and before he knew it they were on top of him. If that would have been our team‘s scenario I would have blamed the goalkeeper the same. The same about many goals this season, he doesn’t become a poor player overnight and his confidence is shot.
I think the your post about the personal side of Maguire is spot on but the media have never learned anything from past transgressions, have they?
Maguire was asking for the ball though, watch him closely, he is signaling for the ball.
It could be argued that De Gea should have seen the danger and passed it out wide to the full back, the one Maguire tried to lay the ball off to and failed.

De Gea and Maguire are both culpable in that situation. Maguire for not having the spacial awareness and threat around him and De Gea for also not recognising that a pass to Maguire, who though asking for it, was a hospital pass.

You cannot count out Tent Peg for that error as well, he must be telling them and coaching them to play out from the back, not matter what. A few years ago De Gea would have hoyed that up field. De Gea is not a goalkeeper who can play the "sweeper keeper" role, just look at his miserable attempt to bring the ball under control that lead to the 3rd goal.
