No one in their right mind will pay those wages, United only did so as a loss leader on merchandise sales. You wouldnt even pay half those wages for a player his age.
Even if United were to subside the sale, as they did with Sanchez, itwould tell its own story and he would only go to stink somewhere else out. He is out for personal records, not club success. He is not the match winner his wages suggest. He doesnt win games against big teams, he scores a brace or hattrick against struggling teams. He is purely and simply a marketing exercise.
His only notable achievement in his second spell at the swamp was getting his rape case dropped. Rant over
