None of that happened though.

Her phoned was hacked, and a recording she made 3 months earlier was shared worldwide. She didn't release it, and didn't want anyone to see it. Young people do everything on their phones. Be it kisses, cuddles, nights out or fights with boyfriends. They film everything. Looking at some of the content that they recorded together, there was probably lots of sex stuff on that phone as well, which is pretty embarrassing for an 18 year old girl. She never tried to get MG in trouble with the Police or CPS. That was made clear at the very beginning. After so many complaints, Greater Manchester Police decided to arrest him and get interviews from both of them. She said she was hacked and didn't want to continue with any prosecution. The CPS said that they had enough evidence to convict based on the recording alone. Twelve months on, she hasn't changed her mind and they are still together.

The recording is unpleasant. A young man is trying to have sex with his young girlfriend, and she is saying she doesn't want to. There's no getting away from that. They arrested him for it. The CPS have dropped the case. Now he is at the mercy of the mob and he will have to live with that.

Considering as it is 99% of R’s never result in prosecution in the UK his lawyers could argue that it was a kinky sex game and they were into violence and S&M. Without her testimony to refute it he would have been freed anyway.

Welcome to the justice system it’s not like on TV rather which case costs the courts the least and results and prosecution.

Let his barrister argue that. Let a jury decide if she made that video interview with police, openly and honestly. She stated she was beaten, raped and controlled by him. No kinky sex was mentioned. Let the Barrister claim she made the story up to hurt Greenwood and then leave it to the jury. Even if they cannot reach a verdict at least the CPS would have tried. This is a cop out that does nothing for women and nothing for justice.

On this we will have to disagree. I do not believe he was charged just on the video evidence. Only her dad said her phone was hacked, no one else. It is my understanding she made a complaint. If I am wrong why are the CPS saying witnesses are now not cooperating ? The one witness they needed was her. If she has always refused to complain they could not charge him. How have the CPS obtained evidence of C&C behaviour if she didn't tell them ?
It is a disgusting case and the CPS come out very badly imo.

No she didn't. She didn't co-operate with the police from the very start. This is why the CPS said that they didn't need her. They had the recording and that was enough. She hasn't made any statements against him.

The other witness was her mate who she sent the snap chat to. She is still with him, so her mate is backing her up and not co-operating as well.

I can see a Pierce Morgan interview with the two of them arm in arm, saying that they were just dossing about and it was all just a misunderstanding. Evil hackers tried to ruin their lives, Mason is a lovely boy, salt of the earth, buys her flowers everyday and visits his granny in the old folks home.

Courts do not like to waste money on cases they feel they cannot win. And these athletes have a limitless pool of resources. I wouldn’t be surprised if the club was advising him too.

The result was predictable as her family is also poor. The father wanted all this to go away and have his pension fund back in place in the form of MG.

She definitely made a complaint and she was been arguing with her father on social media stating he should not speak on her behalf etc.

Her phone was never hacked and this was not leaked she posted it herself. She was even answering questions on social media before taking her page down.

Go on Reddit and other sites the receipts are all there she wanted him charged. Her father did NOT!

I got told at the time of the arrest by an ITK in the police that it was very complicated & don’t be surprised if it gets dropped.

Take out some African Twitter fans (not sure why they seem to defend him) and every single united fan understands he is done and a scum bag.
If you have a mum, a daughter, a sister…..then you don’t want this piece of shot anywhere near your club,
The players don’t want him there either
I hate united….but In this instance take allegiance out of the equation and their fans are normal humans like all of us and they know he is done
Just put him in the bin and move on

Just watched it again on the news, the CPS said that due to new evidence that has come to light, this has lead them to the decision not to proceed with the case.

There's no way that this won't come out somewhere.

Yeah I got told no more than complicated & will probably get dropped which is often the way when people are close to the case. No facts or reasons.

Yep, same with us and Mendy. Even if he’s found not guilty, there’s no way he’s playing for the club again.
 
He is in the squad the same day as the charges were made to disappear dropped. That sends out all the wrong signals!!
If he was proved not guilty in a court of law then maybe but having charges dropped is something else!
