Indeed. If players were suspended because some people on social media wrote up some stuff accusing them of this or that, most players would be on gardening leave.

The rags have thrown Antony under a bus here, unless they’ve seen what is coming.
A complaint has already been made to GMP and the Brazilian authorities and two of the women are said to have required medical treatment, one of them surgery.
So quite a bit more than social media whispers tbh

Ok. That doesn’t guarantee his guilt. If it were an open and shut case, he’d have been charged by now, surely?

I’m not trying to suggest Antony isn’t a wrong’un. Merely suggest that his suspension is a bit premature.

The complaints are in the public domain. The medical treatment and surgery reports are the social media whispers, as you’ve covered in “are said to have had”.

Quite the opposite.
When I worked in Manchester any allegation against a teacher resulted in an immediate suspension on full pay whether or not there was police involvement.
The a LEA maintained this was a judgement free action to protect all parties.
I was generalizing, if children are involved then this is the only option I'm sure there are other occupations as well.

Each case would have to be judged its merits

I hope City are going to comment on the United abusegate accusations.

I want to see past players come out on sky and declare united in crisis. I want to see an in depth investigation carried out by sky and the league. I want journalists to ask every manager at every press conference what they think of the shenanigans going on at the biggest club in the world!

After all, if it’s good enough for City especially regarding FFP or any players we buy that turn into problems. I can’t wait for the impartial bbc to run a spotlight programme on all things grubby united.

Anyway, glazers out -:)
bloody hell nobody dare ask ten bob about it never mind asking other managers

I think that's a simplistic way of looking at it. I'm not sure when the complaint went into GMP but I was under the impression that it was quite recently. Even if it wasn't and it was months and months ago, these things take time to investigate and since Covid they've been taking even longer.

As for the suspension, well United are claiming it's not a suspension but I have to admit it has all the hallmarks of one. We don't know if it's a "bit premature" though because United may know a fair bit more about these allegations than we do. If indeed a club doctor was called out and they've been covering for Antony in some way then that will reflect badly on them. It does seem a little suss that this "suspension" has only been announced soon after the club doctor story hit the public domain. Of course, that could be nothing more than a coincidence but I can't see them taking this action if there wasn't something more to it than allegations with no supporting evidence. Especially as he cost them £80 million and we all know it's ultimately about the money with the fuckers who run that club.

Yeah, you sum up what I’ve been trying to say better than me. It doesn’t add up. Maybe they’ve been burnt by the Greenwood saga and gone too far the other way, or maybe they have more info than we do.
