Every time Neville utters the words "this is Manchester United" the cretin unwittingly nails the problem, this Manchester United is not first and foremost a football club, but a brand, divorced from what was its primary function, football. United exists now to make money from the brand, like PSG is trying to do. The brand has transcended football.

Because the brand is so powerful, the club continues to make loadsa money regardless of performance on the pitch, and as improved performance is a drain on revenue and doesn't seem to effect the brands commercial clout, then being there or there abouts, every now and then, is all that's required to keep the gravy train rolling.

In a model like this, shit stadium, shit training facilities, shit football only matter if they damage the brands commercial clout in the short to medium term, but they don't seem to be damaging the brand, revenues are up year on year, and this extraneous shit would be expensive to fix anyway, so fuck it, they're not getting fixed, why should they, when a cheap sticking plaster will do.

Neville unconsciously recognises this shit show when he calls for Manchester United World. Perversely that's something the Glazers might actually take on board, if it can be done on the cheap. If their marketing people tell them it will further leverage the brand and open up a lucrative income stream, they'll be all for it.
I thought I saw GNIAC at Peppa pig world over the weekend with a clipboard and biro, obviously getting ideas for the new Manchester United world of fun and frolics

Rat boy has finally had his say on yesterday’s news. His non-negotiables? Who the fuck does he think he is?

I can't be arsed looking up what businesses Rat boy owns, hotel or two not sure, either way would he be willing to open up if his customers had a few non negotiables - would he fu*k, how the Glazers run their business is up to them :-)

And they don't have fans. They merely have tourists and day trippers. This makes it difficult for them to get effective protest campaigns off the ground. The owners know this and feel emboldened to walk all over them. Such a shame.

Yes, I dont think people realise just what little regard America and Americans have for the UK in general.

As a country we're a complete irrelevance to them and they'll quite happily shaft us, take advantage of us and take what they can from us just as much as they would from some "third world" country in Africa, Asia or South America.
They have done us before

"Through our 141-year heritage we have won 66 trophies, including a record 20 English league titles, enabling us to develop what we believe is one of the world's leading sports brands and a global community of 1.1 BILLION FANS AND FOLLOWERS."

If only they'd all put a fiver in.
