There's a fine line between positivity and delusion and the rag supporters are definitely on the wrong side of that line.

They remind of the main character in Rob Brydon's superb comedy Marion and Geoff... he's a lonely divorcee and serial loser who has an utterly depressing life yet he remains insanely upbeat, although you get the impression he's on the edge of tipping into a complete mental breakdown if he ever actually accepts the reality of his shit life.

It's a weird turnaround that a few years ago the feeling was that the pull of United was irresistible because "Oh yes, this is Manches'nited we are talking about".

Now an agent mentions United to a player or manager and it's "Aaargh no, go away, this is Manches'nited we are talking about. Forget it".
