I noticed the narrative has change slightly with this. Sometime ago they were spouting off that for the past 360 years they have had an academy player in their team for every game. Now they are saying an academy player in the squad. I guess many clubs can claim that?

That myth was debunked a long time ago.
They tried to say John O'Shea was a youth product and tried to include him as the home grown player in some of their match day squads.
He was signed on professional terms as a 17 year old from Waterford and never played a youth game.
