And I am saying there is absolutely no way City would reintegrate him with the first team in the same situation.
Ok, I'm not sure I share the same viewpoint - I think Premier league clubs are no different to big corporate organisations unfortunately

I definitely think they unfortunately have a lot of similarities these days, but in this, City would not be depraved or just merely stupid enough to do what United is doing right now.

With respect, you’re being spectacularly naive.

Nobody at Sky/TNT/BBC will be bringing it up at press conferences and any freelancer who does will be skipped over and the question ignored.

Realistically the only concern sponsors will have is not wanting him in their marketing literature.

On the pitch/in the ground, the second he scores a goal for them it will all be forgotten about.
Nonsense.

I'm so hoping this blows up in their faces. I do wonder though if the rags statement is testing the water to some extent. If they get a call from (say) Adidas in the next few days expressing discomfort, would that come into the equation? Do feel a bit sorry for their women's team here. Seems like their concerns are to be ignored. Perhaps their international players deserved better on the day that they helped the lionesses qualify for the World Cup final.

Why not? We get asked about charges all the time, so who will stop them?

I'm just saying they are different situations, greenwood has 2 years left on his contract. You can't make a fair comparison
They could pay him off in full for less than 8 million. They're choosing not to because they think they've got a valuable asset on their hands and would get a fee for him. Or they think they can get away with bringing him back into the squad.
