Right, so Ratcliffe isnt their knight in shining armour he is just like the Glazer's than.
Well he is basically proping the Glaziers up as I understand it....he will own 25% of the club but he wont be in control (the Glaziers still will be and they are only selling 12.5% of their stake to him - the other 12.5% is coming from the fans shares). He may aim to buy more in the future but will he have the cash to do so as the price will go up and we have seen in the fact that Sheik Jasim was going to pay 6.4B for them (over the asking price) and the Glaziers turned him down that the Glaziers want to keep control for the time being at least.
Sheik Jasim would have got rid of their debt just like HRH Sheik Mansour did for us. They are servicing that debt (something like £800m of debt) and the interest on it is killing them.....this purchase of 25% by Ratcliffe doesnt change that one single bit...he (INEOS) doesnt have the cash to clear that debt.
Its being said that over the next 3 years that Ratcliffe is aiming to buy more - which means for the next 3 years the rags are going to be in the same shit as they are now. Al along while us and others (Scousers, Arsenal, Newcastle and various others) pull away from them even more.....and then will Ratcliffe be able to buy more and will the glaziers sell more....there is absolutely no guarantee in either...
They could conceivably end up mid table this season (though I think they will get an initial injection of cash to buy a few more players in January which may help them) - West Ham Brighton, Villa, Spurs as well as us, Arsenal, Scousers Newcastle are all comfortably better than them then there are the likes of. You would also have to think that Chelsea will end up better than them - if that happens it starting to look like a very very long way back for them which then leaves them competing with the likes of Wolves (who have beat both us and them), Palace - who always have real fight in them and teams like Fulham for mid table
We are their next home game....if we beat them at the swamp it will turn really toxic (it is already as their fan base is hugely divided on the ownership with some wanting Qatar and (unbelievably) some not wanting them and wanting Ratcliffe) - there are no guarantees in a derby and we arent exactly anywhere near our best but we could put another nail in the coffin as there are already questions starting to appear about Ten Hag as well from some sections and if we beat them, plus they have two CL games against Copenhagan (which they should win but you never know) and before us they have Sheff utd away (who are bottom of the league) - imagine they dont get a result there.
