That’s because they have to give themselves a comfort blanket for why their team not being good anymore. Your right we never heard anything about history back when the Premier League was founded. United hadn’t won a league for 20 odd years and were exactly like what they are now. An expensive team of misfits that might win an odd cup here and there but won’t dominate English football.

They’ve only been good for 25 or so years of their existence, just like Liverpool were good in the 70s and 80s. How can they refer to it as history when it was a purple patch that both teams have never repeated again?

That's why you always say to them how do you become this big a club? And it's winning everything for a generation 20 years about and why I'd want pep to stay another 10 years win another 2 champs leagues and 5/6 league titles!

“Manchester is all about United. You don't see City shirts or flags. Sometimes, with my girlfriend, we go out and say let's try to find one and we don't see them.”- Pellestri(whoever the fuck that is)
I have the impression his walks are all around the swamp, to be honest, it's only the past couple of months I've seen the re-emergence of Sharp and Vodafone shirts, the blokes a childish cnut.

From when I started to go to City it was between 12-16 years before that Wolves were the side of the 50's and that wan't really mentioned.

Now that could have been because they weren't red shirt media darlings or could just have been that relatively speaking it was long enough ago that it wasn't 'important'. Huddersfield further back are also ignored.

Fast forward to now 70's to 2000 seems to be the only period that counts in football (with an odd date/event chucked in from outside the time belt), now IF that's purely down to who were kids in that period then as we all drop off our perches that period to edge on....I'd like to be able to still hold my breath to see ;)

GF “Babe, shall we go for a nice day out somewhere, or go and see a movie, or go for a nice lunch somewhere, or go for a drive in the countryside?”

Pellestri “Nah. Got a much better idea! Let’s go Man City shirt spotting.”

GF “Will you marry me?”

Gf "fuck this shit I'm messaging Ryan back again"

Exactly where was the tipping point in all this historical nonsense? It was never a thing when I was growing up. People talked about winning trophies, but I never remember this bollocks about history and the shite about playing the United way (happens with other teams as well - the Arsenal way, the Spurs way etc etc). What's happened?
Nostalgia is the Novocain for the red shirts.

I wil

I absolutely guarantee you that at some point someone from the media will pick up on the jelly and ice cream thing. I'm actually stunned that some on here aren't all over it. They'll say City's biggest fan forum is in a celebratory mood pending the death of Knight of the Realm after his close shave a couple of years back. Mocking him in his time of grief etc etc. It'll happen.

They can do whatever they like mate.

Media Darlings.

normal rules dont apply in the press to them and as long as there is enough idiots who read the gutter print press and tune into the idiocy of ssn while listening to talksport in their white vans then it will never change, i believe it was lisa simpson that said you will never go broke appealing to the lowest common denominator and the mail, talksport and ssn are absolute proof of that and they will keep pedalling their trash to that denominator as it makes them money

I mean they’d have a fair point…..

Celebrating the death of someone you don’t know because he managed a football team you don’t like, but retired from a decade ago - and he’s had to sit through that decade of his team becoming a laughing stock - would be embarrassingly low and worthy of censure.
