Fans’ obsessions with referees is getting ridiculous now.

From the moment any of them are allocated, you have 5 days of “remember when he made this decision?”, “I’m sure he’s had a holiday in the Middle East“ , “Have you seen his cover photo on Facebook in 2014?” or “His family all support X team, so he must too”.

Then 3 days after a match every minutiae is scrutinised, with any perceived error a clear and obvious consequence of corruption.

Fans do chat about the other aspects of the game for a few hours after the game, to be fair, though.

It's tiresome isn't it. The new conspiracies about them are infinitely more boring than the garden variety feeling that they were all useful. I've seen apparently serious people suggest that Real are paying refs from last night. It's just endless.
