I think it depends on whether they can pick up a few key wins somewhere over the coming weeks. No-one's really expecting them to win against Liverpool and Arsenal so he won't be getting sacked if they lose those two but if they were to lose at home to Saints and Brighton in the two games after that then he could be in serious trouble. While Brighton ought to cause them problems, I think they'll beat Saints and that alone should be enough to see him stay in the job for now.
Yeah, if they lose to Southampton they really have a decision to make. I don't think they'll get relegated but if they lose to Southampton then there will be alarm bells that they really are in a relegation fight.

This fellah really is the 12th man that the media always say every club needs.
11 managers turned down to chance to manage the so called biggest club in the world.
But nobody gets to hear anything like this because of the 'protection' they are afforded by the British media. If more and more people were told the truth behind the handling of the club's affairs the better it would be for them in the long run.
It's the same with reclusives and people of that disposition: they stay behind closed doors because for some reason they fear the outside world. They fear some kind of catastrophe will happen if they venture outside, but the more they stay inside the deeper their fears become.
If the media would put an end to their biased reporting, the club and its followers would be able to have a good hard look at themselves and see what the issue. But all the while we have Sly, the BBC, and the tabloids telling everyone all is well in the fairy-dairy land of Ragsville they will not be able to accept that something is seriously wrong.

they interviewed SIX managers in the summer and amorim wasnt one of them, they then extended tent pegs contract and gave him another 200m to spend before sacking him and hastily appointing a moron mid season to inherit a team without the players that 'his' system so desperately requires and with no way of acquiring those players and he has also said he wont change the system or his ideas, youd have to spin like a fucking waltzer to make positive PR out of that.

& yet Simon Stone will spin like a whirling dervish.

It always the same circle of coach is the issue and then the players. Mix that with the ownership/structure sometimes as well. They have spent enough and not recruited well isn't an excuse that I buy. There is much more wrong there and no one knows how to solve it.
Oh they do invent more rules to stifle competition

The media were touting this appointment as some type of master stroke and that they had stolen Amorim from under City’s noses. Then he got to work and there has been no upturn in performances and players willing to put in a shift for their new boss. It’s too early to say if he will be a failure or success as he has an unenviable task of getting rid of Ten Hag’s and Solksjaer’s failures in the transfer market. He needs time to sort it which with the rags being so impatient he will not get.

see i was having this discussion with another red who was spouting the same thing, its not his fault, its tent pegs players etc etc and while there is some truth in that, there also has to be a thought process that he knew the players he was getting before he rocked up and its incumbent on him to work with what he has while he is sorting his team and if that means adapting his system then so be it.

The serious question to be asked is can they afford to sack him? I presume he's brought some staff in with him, and, this early into his contract, they'd be looking at another £20-30m pissed up the wall again.

Incidentally, I did a long post on the cost of their squad a couple of days ago and forgot to mention one of them. Probably because he's become the invisible man of the swamp. The reason, he's been out of form/injured for virtually his whole time there so far. He's made 22 appearances, usually as an attacking midfielder. He's been there a season and a half and scored 1 goal. He was 2-times player of the year at his previous club. They paid £55m plus £5m in add ons.

Step forward that man - well, he would if he could stand up. How's it going for you in the great Ineos world, Mason Mount? Another master-stroke of a signing to add to the list.

Scum.
