That reminds me of a Not The Nine O'Clock News sketch.

A bloke goes into a newsagent’s to buy a copy of Mayfair and a copy of the Daily Star.

Before he leaves the shop, he puts the Daily Star inside the Mayfair to hide his embarrassment.
An old friend of mine from way back, a painter and decorator, he used to read the Times and do the crossword puzzle, but he didn't want to betray his working class roots so he hid it in a copy of the Sun. True story.
