I think talk of going bust is premature. Seems to me Jim ratty overpaid for part ownership and he knows he overpaid. On top of that I think he had no clue how big a job he’s got on his hands. What’s he trying to do is make United profitable again regardless of the impact on the field and then he will try and recoup his money. If he truly wanted to force the glazers out he wouldn’t be helping to strengthen the club financially. The lower the stock price the easier it would be for him to buy them out fully so it seems to me he either knows they aren’t going anywhere or they are in it together to make a quick profit and they will try to flog the club in a couple of years
In a weird kind of way them beating us in the cup final has really fucked them big time. If we had won that game then ETH would have been fired. But instead they kept him, even gave him a contract extension , and let him spend another £200m on absolute shite, and that's after they lifted up their skirt, basically begging potential suitors to take the job who by all accounts said "no thanks". They then bring in Amorim who didn't want to take the job until the summer with a now or never ultimatum
They employ and sack Dan Ashworth soon after.
This to me points at complete incompetence by Omar Berrada, he's the head of the ship making those kind of decisions.
I cant thank the bloke enough for totally fucking that club up.

Making cutbacks only brings more trouble in the long run, Mistakes will happen and the people who are kept on will up and leave because you will be doing 2 or 3 jobs and only getting paid for 1, The debt is a major problem and the added interest rates when the payments are not met on time become more of a problem than the debt,

The amount of money on players and the wages are out of control, Having £200milion worth of players out on loan, players sitting on crazy wages will not be sorted overnight, some are on 3 to 5 years and sitting on the bench

Many people do not believe that Manchester City was close to becoming in big trouble back in 2006/07 before the takeover. The club's debt was not stable and money was not coming in to pay the running cost,

United look so much like how swales put Manchester City on the back burner, a club that was on a hand-to-mouth setup and cutting corners, You can never recover once the debt is not out of control, and the banks have you in their palm of their hands
I don't know much about banks and loans.
But i should imagin if just one calls in there loan it will cause a stampead ;)

Agree it’s inconceivable but It’s an old relatively modern short term trick. Remove regular employees who have decent benefits. Capitalise the cost of the redundancies. Replace with lots of casual, probably zero hour staff. Outsource wherever possible and if absolutely necessary bring in contractors / consultants to deliver specific projects. Normal result is day to day cost reduction, significant loss in morale and a shitshow to manage.
Redundancies mean their jobs are redundant, how can they be replaced?

You are correct. I recall reading somewhere that United were staffed for a Club regularly in the top 4 and playing Champions League football. In simple terms they’re not as big a club as they once were and have had to cut their cloth accordingly. Scruffy Jim is a ruthless businessman at heart and has applied his Ineos experience at a sporting level and the two don’t always mix. The core of staff that contributed to off field success have been made redundant or have low morale. We’re at the stage where Toto pulls back the curtain in The Wizard of Oz and there’s not much to see. Just some washed up MSM executives fronted by Melissa Reddy.

especially as they also owe £300m + in transfer fees to other clubs some of which could be crucial in another club meeting/failing psr/ffp
This is it for me. The cunts owe millions and millions to other clubs, they run the risk of failing ffp but united can just carry on untouched by the rules 'cos debt doesn't count but it's us that are cheating. Ridiculous

And I find it equally inconceivable that any business can shed 40% of its workforce and carry on functioning and operating at the same level it always has.
Worked for an engineering company that had 300 employees in 1991, when I left in 2007 they were down to 43 employees.

They are still in existance but now have most of their product and parts made in India and there are roughly 25 employees.

They are basically owned by the Pension Protection Fund who have had to step in to bail out the Pension Scheme.

They are a pale shadow of the firm I joined in 1975.

The money go round is catching up with them…..

How did it go so bad ? Was it all fake in the first place

It goes to show when somebody stops them (CITY) from winning titles and Champions League places the shit hits the fans, Also, When the HELP from the match officials and at the PL board levels doesn't HELP you are in the shit again.

United was built on sand and the Manchester City owners took back the sand from under their feet

They must have been if not why rid ???
Just another example of how badly run they are and probably have been for decades .............trophies and getting money in from CL places probably papered over the cracks but now that of funding has been cut off heres what you have.

Lets hope they get knocked out of the Europa league and they cant rely on CL funding to bail them out ............btw shouldnt the PL be looking into a club with a massive debt and thats losing money or are certain clubs allowed to bypass the rules ???
Their workforce before the redundancies was around 1,100, it would be interesting to see how that compares to other established PL clubs.

And those nice men at the PL will probably allow united to write off the costs incurred with the redundancies as an "exceptional spending allowance"
