Ratcliffe has said it is heavily dependent upon the Government commitment and co-operation.

IT AINT GONNA HAPPEN.

This government couldn't deliver a letter.

Government funding.... at a time when Rachel Thieves is going to deliver a devastating economic statemen that is going to slash public spending and cut backs galore.

A great partnership Labour and Manchester United.... destined for absolute failure.

That all depends on whether the govt are stupid enough to think they can sell swamp mk2 as a popular alternative to actual spending and infrastructure regeneration in the north. £2bn to get all the northerners to shut up whining about jobs and railways may be seen as decent value.

I really do not think that level of Government investment (because dress up whichever way you like) in Manchester United will be received very well.

They may well paint it as a regeneration project because that is what it is.... total regeneration in Manchester United FC.

New Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe says his "preference" is to build a new stadium that can also "serve the north of England".

Includes the killer line: "The people in the north pay their taxes just as the people in the south."
(Perhaps he means the north of Monaco just as much as the south of Monaco).
"I think, as part of a regeneration project, there has to be a conversation with the national government.
The north deserves some thought as well as the south, I think, if it is a national stadium."

He's claiming that New Trafford should be seen as a new "national stadium" as a catalyst for northern regeneration.
What would his 100,000 capacity stadium cost? Let's speculate a couple of billion.
So he could move back to the UK, repay the tax he's avoided and he'd still be billions in credit

these people in the north, were they given the same opportunity to bankroll the new Everton stadium...you know, the one they almost got relegated for financing themselves?...the one that has a superb location, ( yeah I know where it fkin is, before you start)...eriously it could have gone for a 'wembley of the North vibe...
 
The silly twats can sing Glazer out all they like , will they sell knowing the cash register is going to go kerching with the possibility of a new stadium build?
Scruffy can bang his drum all they like , no dividends have been paid to the Glazers for the past two seasons , those dividends will only increase if and when they can take them out again , bigger stadium , bigger revenues only means bigger dividends.
Wouldnt surprise me if it’s just a trip to dulux for red paint to tart up the shithole in the end.
