I'm guessing the nickname derives from him having a reputation for slicing and hacking away at opponents legs?
So basically a dirty, nasty, cynical little shit of a player with no real ability or technical finesse.

Typical that rag fans would revel in such 'qualities' in one of their players and wholeheartedly embrace that nickname which he came with.

Unfortunately being a rag he'll now be afforded all the protection and leniency possible from the officials to allow him to continue 'butchering' opponents at will.

He's been afforded all the protection and leniency for the last 2 seasons, at least for the time he isn't sat on the treatment table nursing a self-inflicted injury picked up trying to maime an opponent.

Hopefully he won't join Buchan, The Liver Thief and The Dog Wanker on the list of Rag scum who have ended the career of one of ours.
