Atrocious, I know. I think he's not bad in terms of the tactical planning, but if he's been involved in player identification and spending, then he's proven himself grossly out of his depth.

I have to say I'm particularly sceptical of managers who go back to their old clubs or buy their countrymen. It smacks, to me, of an underlying a weakness in imparting ideas to new players, and I always wonder how much of that money ends up being washed through the accounts of 'agents/countrymen/friends'.

More reasons why Guardiola should be esteemed.

If he was indeed our chosen pep replacement and he does end up at united, it's a massive dodged bullet. Nobody with any credibility would touch that job right now and certainly not one potentially lined up to succeed Pep. They'll have unwittingly done us a favour.
