Interesting to look back on what was said about Ten Hag when he was appointed
No doubt it will be very similar to what is said about Amorim

John Murtough, United's football director, said: "During the past four years at Ajax, Erik has proved himself to be one of the most exciting and successful coaches in Europe, renowned for his team's attractive, attacking football and commitment to youth.
"In our conversations with Erik leading up to this appointment, we were deeply impressed with his long-term vision for returning Manchester United to the level we want to be competing at, and his drive and determination to achieve that.
Ten Hag was understood to be the unanimous choice at United following a rigorous recruitment process that was led by Murtough and Darren Fletcher, the technical director.

Richard Arnold, the executive vice-chairman, was also involved and the trio are understood to have agreed Ten Hag was the best candidate for the job.
United were looking for a number of attributes from their new manager, including proven success, a commitment to youth, the ability to improve players and the will to introduce an attractive style of play.

Ten Hag is said to have set out his long-term vision to build a successful and exciting team during conversations with United, in which he is also said to have shown enthusiasm for the challenge he now faces at Old Trafford.

Sky Sports News understands Ten Hag will tell United players he does not want any passengers at the club.
His key message to them will be that he is the manager, there is a new regime and United are going to go back to playing like Manchester United.

If there are any players who are not up for the challenge, they are welcome to leave, but everyone will start with a clean slate. He has not been given any specific targets, but he knows his job is to make United great again.

Ten Hag set out a "compelling long-term vision" for a successful, exciting team.
Yeah, they have a track record of polishing a conveyor belt of mediocre turds. Look at the hullabaloo when The Moyesiah was appointed, followed by everyone upto and probably Amorin. West Ham didn't appoint him, apparently, not because of any money issue but not having coached a 'big team'. If he stays at the Rags 'n wins more than Ted Rag did, he will still not be able to put 'coached a big team' on his CV!

Manchester United reportedly asked high-profile pundits to stop praising Jadon Sancho during the winger's loan stint at Borussia Dortmund.

What a ridiculous club

Surely they control the media shills comments regarding everything rag ?

" Greatest club in the world " can't be seen for what they actually are, or the fact that they have a proven history of mishandling and ruining players .

Be interesting to see how they go about getting rid of the players Amorim doesn't want. Read today that Casimero is on £350k/ week and Antony Spinner is on £200k/week. I can't see any other clubs willing to pay those wages even if Untied give them away ...
Maguire staying is a good example of what you’re saying.

Just when you think things can't get worse....yewnytid prove you wrong.

The whole set up from top to bottom has been rotton.

Financial restrictions will prevent them from simply throwing money at everything.

There is a deep rooted cultural attitudinal issue which money won't solve.

Their facilities are rank and their reputation is badly damaged.

I could go on ....but they are in a mess as big as City's before HH Sheikh Mansour invested with world class executive's and a long term plan.

Their 'recovery' will be long and bumpy and will not reach the levels of dominance they connived in the 90s.

Remember they went 26 years between winning Division One and the PL, and its 11years and counting since their last one.

Dippers 1 PL in 34 years...
Arse none in 21 years !!

They've made their debt ridden bed and may be dossing in it for a while yet !!
So what's this about them getting Tracy Emin (think that's his name) as manager......?

Lol.

New contracts all round. those 'assets' wont protect themselves now will they?

So looking at how Amorin sets his teams up they could be a bit more solid....

He usually if not always plays 3 at the back with wingbacks

You would assume with his current squad the 3 at the back would be Delit martinez and Yorro once fit...wingbacks would be shaw (If ever fit) and mazouri and Dalot I would presume

He managed Ugarte (iirc?) so he will play along with Mainoo leaving a front 3 from Rashford, Garnacho and Hoiland (with the other young lad (Amad?) also able to play off the right as well

That 3 at the back with wingbacks would make them more solid plus the 2 defensive midfielders - but a high line with that back 3 would be dangerous - delit is slower than I thought and none of the others are quick either.....

Love how Amorim thing is dragging out. Brsilsford telling supporters “ it’s done”. He should just shut his mouth and let it play out. He makes them look even more ametuerish.
