Unimaginable as it was that the club I have supported all my life could go to the bastion of English football and win, on Sunday night Ruben Amorim was reported to have told the players that they were the worst team ever to have represented United.

While I was delighted with Brighton’s win, I am saddened by the position in which United find themselves. Their historic triumphs have all taken place in my lifetime and there is a little piece of my heart which is very pro United.

The long and the short of it is this. If you are willing to pay top dollar to get into a football ground, and this is any football ground, those clubs will bend over backwards to sell you those seats. And this is why we see half and half scarves, tourists or fans from other clubs taking seats off home fans.

United fans are getting salty today because Rangers fans who had probably been on the piss for 10 hours were all up in their faces, and they couldn't do anything about it.
