From memory I seem to recall the Ferdinand deal being agreed for more. Howvwer, due to Leeds troubled financial position at the time as the backs were foreclosing on a regular basis so it seemed, United were able to exploit their position on a number of occasions by offering a lesser instalment paid before its due date.
The Rag's probably still owe Leeds on that deal.

I don't want them relegated. I loved it and celebrated in 1974 when Denis did the business.
All that happened was they steamed back into the First Division straight away.
I'd rather they come a couple of places above relegation for 3 or 4 years. Slowly dying, the financial support through sponsorship drying up, fans pissed off, no new stadium and no rebuild.

And then the wankers get relegated.

Genuinely saw a post on the Caf where someone was lamenting the days of the GPC when they achieved so much with so little.

Rewriting history.
As they always have done. Trafford Ministry of Truth. They have never spent money, they have top players from across the globe queuing up to play for them (for next to nothing), and they have never ever been the beneficiaries of some dodgy refereeing decisions.

But this is what happens when your club exists under a cloak of cast-iron protection from the media in this country: if Slimy Stone tells them black is white, then that is what it is. The end. If the rags have been beaten 0-5 in their own backyard, and Sly and Ratboy tell the plastics: 'The rags were unlucky. They were by far the better side. The ref had it in for them,' etc etc.

The world is full of people who prefer not to think for themselves, hence the proliferation of TV Soaps, tacky game shows and garbage like Loose Women and Love Island.

Ah yes when their floating on the stock market in the late 80s allowed them to buy a team that was worth 80 percent of the club’s value. Would be the equivalent of about £4billion on players if the rags did it today.

The Piscan was the ultimate cheque-book manager.

That's what's quite odd about its obvious to absolutely everyone, he looks more or less finished. Are villa that blind to it? Especially Emery? If he's a bad influence in the united dressing room, why on earth will he be any different in Villas?
To be fair to the lad he is trying to make friends at Villa with all the players.

He's invited them all out for a night in Belfast.

If someone, a rag, goes on about us spending just ask them to Google Romelu Lukaku. Or to save them the trouble.......
In 2017, 8 years ago, they bought him for 75 million pounds.
I'll raise you Paul Pogba.
Went to Juventus for peanuts, bought back for £89 million, ran his contract down and signed on a free for.... Juventus.

Coz we can twat 'em twice a year still too that way

There has always been something a bit sinister and not quite right with how the press totally ignore anything negative about the club, without question they curry favour with departments of media companies, no doubt some sort of financial gain. You only have to examine Simon Stones as an example, its biased beyond belief-and its always been there even before the takeover. The whole reporting of both Manchester clubs from the BBC sport department is an absolute disgrace. Then you have Gary Neville , Wio et all constantly sticking the boot in. Then you have Keane, Scholes doing regular fan podcasts etc.
You can bet your bottom dollar there will never be any ex City player who gets those gigs in the future, you know, the team of the last decade , players who have smashed every record.
Ill wager that most, if not all of the football sport editors at the BBC are united fans.
Remember - it’s not paranoia if it’s true, scum everywhere yet Buzzer gets sacked off for stating the truth
