There has always been something a bit sinister and not quite right with how the press totally ignore anything negative about the club, without question they curry favour with departments of media companies, no doubt some sort of financial gain. You only have to examine Simon Stones as an example, its biased beyond belief-and its always been there even before the takeover. The whole reporting of both Manchester clubs from the BBC sport department is an absolute disgrace. Then you have Gary Neville , Wio et all constantly sticking the boot in. Then you have Keane, Scholes doing regular fan podcasts etc.
You can bet your bottom dollar there will never be any ex City player who gets those gigs in the future, you know, the team of the last decade , players who have smashed every record.
Ill wager that most, if not all of the football sport editors at the BBC are united fans.
