I forgot to add that those are just two examples that I know occurred for certain. Refs were told by PGMOL to lie, in effect. If they're capable of doing that then they are capable of doing all sorts of other things.

You only have to watch Riley's performance in that united v Arsenal game to see it's bent as the proverbial nine bob note.

Yes and I can prove that.

Remember when Aguero got a retrospective ban for a supposed elbow on Winston Reid? The ref was Andre Marriner and his initial report said he saw it and didn't see it was a red card offence. He was asked to change that to say he hadn't seen it (so Aguero could be retrospectively charged) but initially refused.

He was then promised the League Cup final if he changed his report, so he did and he got the gig. I told people on here about that well before his appointment was announced. This came via a senior source at the club.

Then there was the Adebayor celebration after his goal against Arsenal. Clattenburg booked him for it, which he was entitled to do as goading the opposition fans is an offence. However the Head of the FA was an Arsenal fan called Ian Watmore, and on live radio on the Sunday morning, he said Adebayor would face a charge for his actions.

The problem was he'd already been booked for it, which would normally preclude a further charge so they had to find a way out. The involved getting Clattenburg to change his report to say he'd booked Adebayor for time wasting. So he could then be charged and got a suspended ban. I was at a meeting with club officials at that time and they were absolutely furious about it.

If that's not corruption then what is it?
We can all cite incidents of what we think are poor or "bent" refereeing decisions every weekend. It's because of the pundits and journalists continually concluding the ref got it wrong that we ended up with the disaster that is VAR.
I often read other teams forums after we've played them. They think that the referees favour City. To be honest if your assertion that the refs are corrupt then they're probably right. There's absolutely no way City could have won 6 out of 7 if the adjudicators are bent without them doing favours for City.

Var should use the same principles they use in Rugby league
All in angles that are available should be shown in real time and slow motion.
The conversation between the on pitch referee and var should be heard live.
Freeze frames should not be used.
All grounds should have a big screen.
Oh they have apart from two

Do you honest believe football isn't bent.
Its obvious.
Ots happening every game

I never realised at the time how fooking bad it really was at time but it was truly fooking shocking

It happens to certain clubs a hell of a lot ...........you may get the odd decision go your way but certain clubs end up with a lot more.

I mean you go back through time and look how many dodgy decision go there way ............remember Roy Carrol pullng the ball out a yard or so over the line and the linesman was blind to it

Who told you this?

Player joins united, starts playing poorly.

Player leaves united, starts playing well.

This continues for over a decade. It's the manager, sack him! It's the board, sack them!

Maybe eventually they'll come to the conclusion that it's the club itself, rotten to the core, poisoning talent, demanding respect and trophies based off last glories rather than the current reality, and a significant reduction in the number of flimsy, subjective decisions that carried them to trophy after trophy.

But I doubt it. Whose next on the merry go round? Wazza? Oh, best get on to masters too as those financial rules will need tinkering with again if they're going to bring in more talent and get the season ticket sales moving. Next year they could be reborn!

The angle they’ll use is that despite being pulled backwards, Young fell forwards.

It’s one of the rare incidents where it’s 100% a foul and also 100% a dive.

That being said, the fact the penalty was given on field, it should have remained a penalty as whichever call was made was justifiable.
But as all the pundits say, if there's contact then every player has the right to go down. They love that line for the professional divers out there.

I won't post a link to the Daily United. It's the headline article if you really want to read it?

It's getting very bitter at Old Toilet if the article is true?

--------

The Mirror claims that INEOS director of sport Sir Dave Brailsford and his staff have grown tired of hearing about how Ferguson dominated English football in the 1990s and 2000s.

Some of United's top decision-makers are even said to blame Ferguson for United's stagnation since his retirement in 2013, with the suggestion being that his failure to embrace modern developments in coaching and scouting caused the club to fall behind their rivals.
Ooppphhhh.....they've printed that??

Dermot will be on soon enough " we'll the first shift pull wasn't long enough there an unwritten 3 minute rule the second grab was just that all part of game young .made most of it
Move along nothing to see
Dermot is an anagram of Red Tom! I can't believe I fell for this conspiracy

To assist the rags so that they were in the top 4, the refs would have to act so corruptly even Scruffy Jim would call them out.
It would be like me winning the Euro millions, the fact I don't buy a ticket wouldn't matter.

They are that shit the refs can only help them so much.
Enough to keep them from being relegated, no thanks to the 3 shit bottom teams

Still my favourite ever goal celebration. There was a thread on here with the Arse fans fury shown in slow motion - it was hilarious and should be in the Classic Thread section.

Ps. Great post PB - the cartel clubs have a lot to answer for.
Oh go on, since you asked so nicely..

Your post quite clearly means you refuse to accept what a senior member of Manchester City Football Club has told a respected member of this forum.
That I find more astonishing than people saying the PL is not corrupt.

Talksport funny just now. Glendenning says this is the worst United team in 40 years. Co presenter says longer than that and if they were to drop into a real relegation fight they would struggle and go down.

Please let that happen (I know they’re too far ahead, but just the thought is extremely funny)
