Who is paying for it? Let me guess! Not the tax dodger nor the Glazers. Who does that leave? Pie in the sky bullshit to deflect from the pile of shit on the pitch.
Let's assume they borrow £2bn. At, say, 7% that's going to cost them £140m a year in interest alone. They can offset some of that via a naming rights deal but I can't see that bringing in more than £25m a year, and that's the very top of the range.

The rest would presumably come from the increased matchday revenue but they'd need to nearly double that. The increased capacity would take care of about a third of that but they'd need to find something like £2.5-3m extra per game on top. And that's just to cover the debt and stand still. If they continue their collapse on the pitch then things could really get interesting.

I did like this on the news story I read about this stadium development

“United, currently £1 billion in debt, are yet to say how they plan to pay for the arena.”

So, losing £400m in three years, not making profit, £1b in debt, and hanging around the low 1/3rd of the league… but yet are going to build this grand stadium and as I should be working I asked chat gpt for a rough cost to build the best stadium ever with 100,000 seats…. Between £2b and £3b!

Now if they do build it, adding at least another £2b to their debt pile.

They'll be fine, they sacked some secretaries and cleaners...

They might be the first ever club to actually sell their name to a sponsor, dropping the Manchester United for let's say "Qatar Industries 11" ?

Where is the money for a new stadium coming from?
Scruffy Jim has already stated that without sacking shit loads of staff the club would be totally fucked.
They have lost over £300m in the last 3 years and are well over a £1billion in debt.
They are trying to get rid of players because they are crap and overpaid but who the fuck would buy them..
They need to spend a fortune buying new players to make them competitive but they can't really afford them without going further into debt.
Scruffy Jim and the Glazers aren't going to put their hands in their pockets and finance the new stadium as they are all in it for whatever they can leech out of the rags.
If the Government finance it after all the cost cutting they are making they might as well say here's the keys to number 10 to the Conservatives.
Maybe they can ask their 1 billion fans to contribute to it..
Instead of rebuilding in Trafford they should build it on fantasy island.

They say the government won't be financing it, and it would be something investors might be keen to help with. Who knows, i'm no expert, so no point in me saying they can or can't like many others on here. But if they do, it would clearly require financing that would increase their debt. How they do this and try to become competitive with their current squad would seem to be pretty tricky.

But to release all these plans with Lord Foster on board would be another massive own goal if it doesn't go ahead.

I'm probably not upto speed on the actual positioning of this circus tent.

We'd better not bend over for 10+ years and let the cunts play at our pad.
Andy Burnham is getting funding from the Government to move the freight yard adjacent to it to Warrington to free up the space to build the tent He claims it will help the congestion through Piccadilly

Surely it would still be called The Theatre of Dreams?

If a mate had 10 credit cards and overdraft all maxed out out but was still planning a 12 month luxury round the world cruise, you'd probably step in and try and get them some professional help. Not praise them and tell them its a great idea
Depends if he's planning on taking you with him

Private finance is gonna cost them a fortune given their present assets are leveraged up to the hilt. Factor in the Cayman Islands and other debt the Glazers have potentially secured against United and I can’t see investment banks queuing up to lend them £2bn over 25years.

They claimed to be the biggest side in the world pre fergiscum.

And they'd won fuck all at the point really to make anywhere near that claim, it was a plane crash that they fed on to give them prestige.

It's all in the power they hold in the media, Also they milk the shit out of Munich ? If they only knew the true story and the life after for many of their players and families, But again that is controlled by the media

lol wtf is the circus tent stadium they think they are building! Jokers & clowns.

They are closer to relegation than building a new stadium.

It’s all a PR stunt which will back fire when in 2 years they will be in same position with a new manager & probably even Radcliffe has buggered off
