United will win it, I have little doubt. The rule for the winners to o in the Champs League has been in place since 2014/15 so at least it's not something UEFA have dreamt up overnight. Saw a couple of Reds (one a STH) last night who genuinely thought they'd loose by 3 or 4. On a personal level I had a bet pre quarter finals, stand to win 105 oncers, not including stake, so a little bit of consolation. Rags now 5 to 6, Totteringham 13 to 10.
 
The Europa League is like Willy Wonka’s golden tickets for shite teams to get into the Champions League, and now no Champions League teams drop into it; it's in effect an easier way to get a Champions League place!

The Champions League next season is going to be mad with six teams in it from the Premier League! That is the most any country has had in it! Wonder if, say, Arsenal finished seventh and won the Champions League, we would have seven teams in the Champions League.
 
Let’s get this right, they haven’t beaten any of the top 36 clubs in Europe as they all were in Europe’s premier club competition. Two clubs from Europe’s richest league with bigger budgets to go and recruit players, who sit 14th and 16th in the Premier League. The media are already hyping this up as some type of magical fairy tail. It’s not, it’s two clubs that don’t make any profit and have some of the largest debt in European football. Living beyond their means and failure to gain any success from it is why they are in the position now fighting over a back door route into the Champions League.
 
wtf am I missing here! United were shit & won because they played 10 men most of the game & was still shit v 10.

Over seventy years of watching football the rags have been on the brink of going tits-up, several times. Then suddenly, like magic everything gets resolved. Money appears from nowhere. That tells you all you need to know about manure.
 
Personally (And I know I stand alone) I am glad that if they win it they will be in the CL next season. Why? Because they are such a poor team and will eventually get found out as they always do. Makes getting anywhere near the top or 5 a little harder aswell. True they may sign some half decent players but so will everyone else.
Relax. Fuck them.

There is no worry that they will compete in the CL. It is the further downward spiral they will go in should they not qualify. No CL money means scraping the copper jar again, no CL football means better players not wanting to join. Them not qualifying would really hamper any progress scruffy Jim wants to make and push them back even longer.

We don't want them in it because of the money they will receive. I want them bankrupt sooner rather than later. In my lifetime preferably.

When you play for to pass to runners behind the opposition defence and I have now doubt they work on when they get the ball slow down wait for contact then dive! Watch them the whole team are cheating the whole game

This is how far they have fallen a team 14th in the league and still not made 40 points in May. It’s desperate, desperate stuff. When they’ve seen their chums in Merseyside equal their 20 league titles and had to endure 4 years of City being champions with a treble thrown in they are feeding off scraps to kid themselves that the good times have come back.
